Lazy Gibbon 2 Chiang Mai - Haiya

Extended again & again because I felt so at home here! Beds are super comfy, nice co working area and Pim makes everyone feel so included & welcome! Will go again the next time I am in Chiang Mai 😊

Great hostel for socialising, it has a great upstairs open balcony with several places to sit and chat with other travellers and also a great coffee shop down stairs for a quick coffee break anytime of day. Balcony area was a little unclean but feel that was because there was people sitting out there from 8am until 11pm at night so hard to get around everyone. Bathrooms and toilets need a little extra tlc but does the trick if your not too fussy on that! Beds were comfy.

Our booking got cancelled the moment we arrived (overbooked). Other guestswere leaving because there were bedbugs. Didn't get our down payment back.

Having a locker is super important for peace of mind. It’d be awesome if the reception stayed open a bit longer! And the cleanliness could use a boost, those towels are seriously scratchy

I’m sorry, but this was one of the worst hostels I’ve stayed at. Someone in my room was either on drugs or had mental issues, tweaking out. The room had no windows or natural light, so the photos were deceptive. I moved to another dorm that smelt terrible, with belongings scattered like people lived there for weeks. No free water; you pay for it. Thin walls let you hear screaming and noise late at night. Rules aren’t enforced, and staff leave after a certain time. The AC is off during the ...

I am glad I only booked two nights with the intent to extend, so I could easily move to a different hostel, this one was not for me. Though I might have had high expectations after some great hostels before this one. Here a few points: - one of my roommates had a pile of cigarette buts next to his bed - the airco was leaking - you could hear the rats above the ceiling - no real common room, so no contact points with other travelers - no lockers in the room - doors don’t lock so anyone can ent...

Staff is si nice and will do anything to make your stay in this hostel the best. Highly recommend if you want a chill social hostel. Thank you very Pim and Nam

Nice hostel, not the comfiest beds, but clean and private with nice curtains. If you’re getting freaky in the showers however, please do it quietly as the whole floor can hear you

I really enjoyed my time at Lazy Gibbon! Perfect position to live the authentic Chiang Mai, outside the ancient city.

I had a great time staying here. The bed was good sized and very comfortable! The rooms and public spaces were kept clean, and it was a very calm and quiet environment. I only stayed one night but if I was in Chang Mai again I would definitely stay here!

The best hostel in Chiang Mai, at the best location in Chiang Mai. Haiya locality offers the best way to explore the city, keeping you at a walking distance from the Old City while also letting you have the peace. Lazy Gibbon is a great work in progress (as of Jul'25) and is destined for great success with the owners and the staff being on-point. The hostel just has something going for it such that it attracts the best tourist crowds too.

For an adventure family trip on a tight budget this hostel was a precious find. Got a dorm room for four just for us and we felt like home. Comfortable beds, aircon and very clean and usable shared toilets and showers. I will come back, for sure. Plus the staff is very nice and helpful. My son got some stomach problems on the day we checked out and they let him stay in the room sleeping for a few more hours. I just hope i can come back soon.

Overall, I had a great experience at this hostel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean, and the location was perfect. There’s a nice coffee shop inside aswell. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to stay in Chiang Mai and wants to experience a more local area while also being conveniently close to Old City. Will return!
