Cool Hostel

The hostel is clean and tidy. When I went, there were very few people in the hostel and I was alone in the dorm room (end of August). It had a bad smell in the dorm room even though the room and bedding looked clean. It eventually aired out but unpleasant when you arrive. There’s no common area to hang out. The location is not great as it’s in a residential area with apartments with not much around (except 1 bar/restaurant right next to to it). It’s 30 min walk to center or 18 min bus ride...

Great overall, all the common rooms, bathrooms and chambers were clean, there is a small kitchen with material to cook and eat properly. However, me and my friend clearly didn’t feel welcomed as there are two réceptionnist. The man was nice and was polite. The woman never did say hello back, she always looked at us weirdly and bad her eyes to the sky when I dared to talk in a common room. It feels like we are in their own houses as they sleep there. I did not like that welcoming.

staff were incredible, felt very safe, the location was nice too but a bit further out. only problem was i spent a number of days here and the whole time the kitchen was absolutely disgusting. food left out, dishes everywhere, bins overflowing.

Nikolas and Anna-Maria are the best! They are the kindest staff at Cool Hostel. Truly they are the best people I met in Split. As for the hostel itself, it is not very clean, and a lot of the guests were noisy and some were not so comfortable to be around. Maybe I am not used to the hostel accommodations but it was tough. Also there is no privacy.

Overall, good clean hostel with nice beds, wifi, lockers, double pillows. It gets cleaned everyday. Toilet paper is not refilled all the time, kitchen is quite dirty (not being able to cook for this reason). Bed was double booked initially.

New hostel with okay facilities, but they don’t get cleaned at all during the day and fridge is packed with old food that no one throws out and toilet didn’t have toilet paper every evening which means they don’t go around to check at all. There was no common area to hang out and meet people. Nice stay but at the same time not really.

rooms and bathrooms were big and clean , good for a night , nothing in the area to do at night and it wasnt very social maybe .. but over all is good

The location is great! There are plenty of bus stops, markets, and restaurants nearby, which makes everything really convenient. The hostel’s structure is excellent, with well-kept rooms and common areas. The only thing that bothered me was the blanket in the room, which is just a very thin sheet — if I had known, I would’ve brought a lighter pajama. Also, the social areas could be a bit more lively

The 4 bed room is not 4 separate beds. We booked this place specifically so each person in our mixed group could have their own bed so when we arrived to find a queen and futon we were surprised. When we asked management if we had been given the wrong room we received some unpleasant attitude and were told that everything was in the photos - not true. Place was clean and felt safe so we made it work, but sharing this as an FYI for others in similar situations.

Very clean and quiet place, as a solo traveler I immediately felt like I am In a Hotel and not hostel, as in everyday you get a new clean towel! the cleaning staff was amazing working non stop! amazing kitchen and huge fridge basically if you love it cosy you can live there defo will come back!

It was a wonderful hostel (very quiet when I went but it was also getting to off season) but the walk to everything is quite far. The busses didn’t always come a consistent times so that was also difficult to navigate. It’s a great hostel just be prepared to walk a bit to get to the old town

Good place to stay, very spacious and good facilities. It is a little bit hard to find though. Location is around 20-30mins walk from the main marina in Split. There are free places to park nearby which is a plus. Recommended.

The lockers was a HUGE plus because it was just an amazing change of pace. Lockers are included in your accommodations (at least for the all women dorm, maybe it’s true for others) and it’s a pretty decent size. You can put all your stuff in, lock it, and just take the key with you out and about. Shower space was pretty nice and clean, just bigger than I anticipated but a nice/welcomed surprise. AC was strong, so good for ppl who like it cold. Distance to (old/down town) was just the downsid...

We really loved our stay here in the 8 female dorm. It has a nice boutique style which made it feel like a home and fully air conditioned. It was really clean and the staff were helpful and kind. We shared a bathroom but there were seperate showers for female and males and toilets seperate to the showering space. We liked that it was outside of the main city away from the busy noise but still a manageable walk about 30 minutes or a cheap bolt/uber. The beach is just 10-15 minutes walk!

Nice place with a cool bar. Private rooms had enough space and good beds :)

Felt safe here as a solo female traveller. Took the female only room which was really clean, as were the showers and bathrooms. Not the most social of places and it’s ~40min walk to the town centre which is a bit annoying but excellent value for money!

Cool Hostel was super accommodating when my flight was delayed and I ended up in Split after check-in time. Bathrooms were spotless, but the bedrooms were a decent. Security was great and facilities were great — bed was decent, but would’ve been nice to have a curtain and a little shelf by the charger for my phone. Would defo stay here again though, and would recommend to anyone traveling through Split!

Amazing hostel!! Could’ve used a little more of a common area, but otherwise it was great. Location is close to a beach but there are definitely better ones that you can uber to for extremely cheap! Cannot recommend this place enough! Most comfy beds of my whole trip
