Mapesbury Hostel London

Never heard a better alarm than the sound of someone deepthroating a toilet brush at 5am on a Saturday. Lovely night manager, we now all know we have plans to become business women in textiles. Stay here for the plot. Beds not double - but triple booked! Stinking toilets. One of the hostels (bear in mind there’s 2 on opposite ends of the street cause of course) was lovely and flame grilled inside with a DELICIOUS side of mould.

No keys, no change, no ID-checks, no appologies...never again The most of my time (2 days ) at Mapesbury Hostel London I have spent with calling, chasing, waiting and enduring a level of incompetence that I would not have thought can be provided by adults even if they would try very very hard. Yet, at Mapesbury Hostel London this is very much the reality. Spend your precious holiday time or money somewhere else.

I didn't get to stay, I payed for everything I got to the hostile they never sent me a code for the lockbox and there was no lockbox for me so I had to get a new place, and I couldn't contact them while I was there trying to get in, I'm still trying to get my money back.

No staff on the prenided at all. Had to wait outside for over ten minutes for someone to arrive. He didn't show me the kitchen, living area, garden area, etc, only showed me a bed. Had to stumble around looking for it all. Garden area was like a building site. Shower rooms are incredibly small, except for one. Not enough showers either, so always a queue. Someone broke my padlock trying to get into my suitcase, luckily they failed but I had to buy a new suitcase because the previous one damaged

Do not stay here if you are a young solo backpacker. The price is not worth it. They didn’t leave a key out for me like they were meant to so I couldn’t check in and there’s no receptionist on site. Really bad smell in common areas, shower pressure is awful and there was no one under the age of 40 there that I saw.

This place is a farce.Do not book ! Not enough room to state my problems here but I going to use all the characters I can! Arrived on site to no reception and had to call number to gain access,when person arrived on site took them 1o minutes to find entrance key to main door and when I was shown to my shared room no keys could be found,I was left standing alone in the room for 2 hours,during which I made numerous phone calls to the number on the booking and was given numerous excuses .dont st...

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND We bought two double rooms for two nights. The rooms were different from the picture, tiny, the bathroom in deplorable condition. There are many places to stay, not just one at the address indicated. If you buy several rooms, you may find that you will be sleeping several kilometers from each other. The room wasn’t the cleanest I’ve stayed in, the toilet and shower were dirty but I assume it’s from not being used for a while. When we got there the blanket on the bad was wrinkled and the pillows were against the wall like someone had been sat on the bed against the wall. It looked like someone had just gotten up out of it. My checkin was unorganised. I’ve waited more than 30 min, got I room and I was requested to change and it was offered a different one that I’ve booked. The location is perfect, just few minutes from the station. The rest was ok.

If you are looking for a hostel that is not party oriented and suitable for short and long term stays, London house is a great home away from home.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Staff were so unorganised, we were stranded outside without a key for about 2 hours and they wouldn’t answer their phone. Bathrooms didn’t have any toilet paper at any time and bins weren’t emptied either. There was rubbish on the ground and half lit smokes in the bathrooms too. We didn’t get to stay in the room that we booked because another traveler wanted a refund and we’re refusing to move. Shocking experience. No safes, no keys for dorm rooms and felt very unsafe...

The worst place I’ve ever stayed in London. The location isn’t bad but it’s not the address in the page, you have to call them so they can open and I didn’t have reception so it was very difficult. Do not stay here!! Reasons why: 1. The address on Hostelworld is wrong. It’s an hour away from the actual hostel. When I called them, they blamed me for getting the address wrong. It’s 30 Chatsworth Road, NW2 4BS. 2. Gross. My room smelled like cigarettes, the kitchens weren’t clean, and the bathrooms were abysmal.
