The hotel is very close to the center and every important spots in the city. The hotel kitchen is clean. The dorm room is also clean and has a comfortable temperature. However, one of the window needs a bit of repair. In total, I felt very comfortable!

Ein familiäres Hostel mit herzlichstem Personal – man wohnt quasi mit der Familie. Die Privatzimmer sind riesig, sehr sauber und mit bequemen Betten ausgestattet. Küche ist gut ausgestatten zum Kochen. Balkon und Gartensitzplatz laden zum Verweilen ein. Absolute Empfehlung!

Nice helpful staff. Dorms, DIY kitchen, Security Lockers - all good. This is the hostel for Matagalpa. The city is nice and worth seeing. Different than Grenada, Leon, Mag City. And the surrounding forest-jungle is magnificent. Tour the Los Pinos family farm. Not far, speaks #nglish and shows you how-a typical small farm in the forest grows coffee and coco.

It was a great ambience to chill and get work done. Very open for sunlight and fresh air. Also, very close to city center, easy to get places, quite a few restaurants to eat just around the corner.

Tout allait bien avant le début de la soirée… Le service pendant la journée était correct, mais le soir, j’étais le seul client. Je ne sais pas ce qui s’est passé, mais ils ont commencé à mettre de la musique super fort, car ils faisaient un souper entre amis. La musique était tellement forte que c’était insupportable ; impossible de dormir ou de me reposer. Je ne suis vraiment pas du genre à écrire des commentaires négatifs, mais je trouvais ça insupportable.

Cute hostal/house in the center of Matagalpa. The woman holding the hostal is so lovely and always helping you getting the information you need. Some nice things in the nature to explore around! You are in a family house so you'll have them around but I didnt mind

Het hostel ligt centraal in het centrum. Echter is het meer een home-stay dan een hostel. Je moet door de woonkamer van de eigenaren om naar de keuken te komen, voelt niet helemaal oké. Tevens zeer onduidelijk wat wél en niet gebruikt mag worden in de keuken, uitrusting keuken viel erg tegen, meerdere malen moeten vragen waar alles ligt. Niet prettig. Hygiëne van de keuken voor ons ver onder de maat. Kamer daarintegen erg groot en ruim. Warm water, perfect. Snachts veel en hard straatgelu...

Dorm itself was alrightalthough the hostel isnt very social. Unfortunately no water for most of my stay. The guests shared the kitchen with the owner's family living in the same house which made guests feel like they're constantly in someone's personal space. Not exactly welcoming or relaxing atmosphere

This hostel is run by a local family, and they also live there...so it feels slightly more like a homestay. Hilma has a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and can recommend many things to do- waterfalls, hiking in cloud forest, exploring the lake, etc. The dorm overlooks the street and can be quite loud at night (from motorcycles)... I needed earplugs to sleep. The bathroom was kept clean. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

It’s a decent place, clean and nicely located. There were only three other guests staying during our visit so not much social vibe. And the family (owners?) stay in the common area (their living room?), it gets a bit odd.

A hostel is not just a good bed and a hot shower, it's as well a friendly welcome, that did not take place, a good vibe, that didn't exist, facilities that work, the plug next to my bed didn't work, as I mentioned it, the manager answered me if I did spend my nights on the phone and why I needed that particular plug for charging my phone. I asked for a blanket, but I never received it, I found one in the wardrobe and the following day the manager took it away from me saying dorm beds don't deser

Positives The double room is very big and the beds were very comfortable. Also, the shower is good and there is a well equipped kitchen (it’s not obvious on the website that there is a kitchen you can use). Negatives My room was noisy (street noise) which continued into the night and woke me up several times. Breakfast - I paid extra to have breakfast included on the website, but the hotel manager insisted it was extra. We ended up making our own breakfast.

Booked here after reading lots of great reviews, and it was a comfortable place to explore Matagalpa from. Pros: dorm was very spacious and clean, only 4 of 6 beds filled and we had tons of space for our stuff. The younger guy at reception was super helpful. They also have all the bus information etc. Cons: a bit of a weird vibe here, as a whole family lives there and does their cooking in the communal kitchen.
