Darwin Hostel

Good place. The front side has been destroyed but they will rebuild something. So the front is a bit weird, but the back is really cool, with the pool, the tree and the tree bed. My room was nice and the place was clean.It was cheap and the bed was comfortable. I can't ask for anything more so I give it a 10.

No reception. Felt unsafe as a solo female traveller. The entrance is off the road slightly down an unlit path (thankfully the Uber driver agreed to wait until I’d got in). Extremely dirty and exposed.

I walked in and thought nope, I am not staying here. As a solo female backpacker, I felt I could not stay here. I felt very exposed. The kitchen was a mess and so was the room, The people also gave me weird vibes. I should be clear that I did not spend the night here b/c of my gut. This is definitely the WORST hostel I ever stayed in! Would not recommend at all. The photos provided did not show what the reality was. There was no reception at all, all communication was via text. The vibe of the hostel was completely off, did not feel right at all. There were a lot of longtime tradies at the hostel and it almost felt like you stepped into their house/domain. Next to this, the hostel was gross and did not look like it got cleaned regularly. Also, no lockers in the room.

Nothing special. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, but the common areas are very messy. Tidying-up rules are not enforced.

I was put in the Cozy Hostel, It was obviously in a state of 'transformation' - bldg materials everywhere. My feelings abt security took a dive after Ernaut's story. I liked: the code locks on the doors; the staff cleaned in the mornings (I wish the guests wd clean after themselves!). I didnt like: the internet is not accessible upstairs. shortage of kitchen storage and equipment. Overall the guests were pleasant & considerate, and I enjoyed the stay

It's alright place to sleep, not a party hostel, but a little bit messy if you are unlucky to share the room with messy people, no dedicated locker when i was there, had to put my stuff on my bed

After my booking approved on app, they sent me a message and said there won’t be a bed for me . I ve never get my prepayment

Quieter than a lot of the other hostels in Darwin. However, the kitchen is small and the facilities are dirty. There is clutter everywhere. There’s no reception, so you have to track down the line staff member if you need anything. The long-term residents in my room had spread their stuff everywhere, so there really wasn’t space for my things and there are no lockers.

Disgusting! The worst hostel I’ve been to my entire life! I left after an hour because I was scared to get an illness or so. So dirty woowwww The government should close this one I don’t understand how any person especially a woman would sleep there

I’m giving lower rate because the hostel going to renovate. Very messy and not clean. Initially I booked and paid for 2 bed with 4 people but I stayed at 3 bed 6 people. Not as promised and paid. Disappointed. Thank you

A lovely place to stay, close to the water and right on Mitchell Street, although not too close for noise disturbance. Great staff. Could have been a little tidier and a couple times the gate was left open but felt safe.

Wat mij betreft het beste hostel in Darwin! Het is schoon, vriendelijk personeel, leuke backpackers en goede bedden. Hangt echt goed sfeertje. Het maakt niet uit of je 2 maanden er bent of 2 nachtjes zijn altijd mensen die even praatje komen maken. Als je echt een partyhostel zoekt zou ik deze niet zo snel boeken. Voor mij was dit perfecte middenweg tussen feestje/gezelligheid en beetje uitrusten

Nothing special. There was nothing wrong with the hostel, but we didn’t like it nearly as much as the other hostels we stayed in during our 8 weeks in Australia. Vibe was not great. The location/distance to the city is fine, but there are people bothering you on the street. I didn’t really like sitting in the communal dining area of the hostel. There was a lot of trash (cigaret butts, empty pizza boxes etc) on the tables most of the time. Could use some more stove tops in the kitchen

Good stay. Rooms are not locked at all cause door code isn’t working. But free bbq when we arrived!

Very nice hostel, good location. The only thing is that it is a little dense.

The room I stayed in was a private room that looked like the sheets had not been washed, it was tiny for a ridiculously expensive price. When I arrived there was no one to let me in even though there were numbers left to call no one answered. There was a lot of commotion that happened inside and outside that made feel extremely unsafe, when notifying one of the managers they said police had been called but no one ever turned up. Really disappointing for the amount I paid for this private.
