Wave Loom Hostel

+ the staff, especially the owners are extremely nice people! I felt welcomed and they provided me with info, service, etc. + it’s in the Center of Main Road (15 minute walk to main point) - no lockers, loud music until 4 a.m., party hostel vibe, anyone can go in and out of dorms, not a lot of space. It’s not a bad hostel, it just wasn’t my vibe since I was in Arugam Bay only for surfing. Thank you for the refund though! 🫶🏽

Best hostel I stayed at in Arugam Bay! The hosts make you feel like you are part of their big family and create a lovely social atmosphere!

I have never felt more welcome in a hostel in my entire life. The owners were the kindest people I have ever met. During my stay one of the guests had to go to hospital and the owners sorted her out an appointment and even travelled 3 hours with her to translate for her and help without even asking thanks. They go above and beyond at Wave Loom and after 10 months of backpacking I can 100% say this is the best, friendliest, most fun hostel I have ever stayed at. Could not recommend more ❤️

This was easily the best hostel I stayed at in Sri Lanka. I booked for 4 nights and stayed for 11: I would have stayed longer but for my flight home. Akila, Hansi and Adam are incredible. They are always around and happy to help with anything, surf lessons, travel advice, best restaurants etc. Rooms are simple and clean. There is a lovely outside space for chilling. Family dinner was amazing! 100% I’ll be back xxx

Pros: really affordable, good location we got free welcome drinks twice and an affordable menu. Also offered us an affordable taxi to the south coast. Cons: no AC in the private room just a fan so the room is actually hotter than outside. The bathroom smells and floods every time you shower when the water isn’t cutting out mid shower. The wifi didn’t work and the staff told us no one else at the hostel needed wifi and suggested we paid for mobile data.

actually I recommend for number one in hospitality at wave loom hostel. I expected to come to Arugambay and learn how to surf so I am succeful because of wave loom hostel has good surf instructors. wave loom hostel nice and very friendly stuff and breakfast is really nice, Wonderfull service, very kind staff and helpful. washrooms are really clean and they provide shampoo and body wash. Beach access and around has everything, food city, ATM medical service. Recommend for solo and backpackers.
