Arka Hostel

Stay away. Disorganised. Things are clean enough but the kitchen is in poor shape. At check in I was told of a midnight curfew which is not stated on the listing. Then they locked up early and I was locked out. No response on the phones. The place is on a quiet dark street.

Good hostel. Nice rooms, kitchen and we were allowed to use a washing machine. Very good position, not far to bus station.

Für ein zwei Nächte ok. Es gibt KEIN Frühstück und die Küche hat nicht mal einen Topf. Im Zimmer gab es Schwarzschimmel. Die Dusche im dritten Stock hat nicht funktioniert. Generell hat man nicht viele Leute dort getroffen. Aber das Staff war sehr nett und hat uns zuverlässig einen Bus bis Theth organisiert.

Stayed for two nights. I was completely alone in my dorm; maybe even in the whole hostel, which was nice since I needed some tranquility. Rented a bike for 500 lek (5 euros) - it was an ok bike. It’s clean and a nice facility with an outdoor space. However I could imagine it being more troublesome if it would have been a full house since there’s few bathrooms and showers - and only one charging spot in the dorm by the door.

This hostel is fabulous. It's a shame there weren't more people staying here. Take a chance and book!

The best hostel I have ever been to. The staff were so nice and helpful and the location is absolutely perfect.

Was locked out at 12:00am at night, no covers on blankets, place had no atmosphere.

Posto giovanile e in un' ottima posizione, molto carino e con molto via vai di gente. Ma anche molte cose che mancavano. La mia stanza aveva solo due prese elettriche per sei posti letto. Nella descrizione online c'era scritto che la colazione era inclusa invece no, cucina molto sporca, con pochi utensili e non molto funzionante. Adeguato a chi si deve fermare pochi giorni, per soggiorni più lunghi a mio parere scomodo

The location is nice . It’s close to a busy street but still in a quiet side street. The prices for the bicycles are bit more expensive then the ones you get from other locals around the corner. The rooms are clean and quite big , unfortunately there’s not many toilets,showers or plugs to charge. It was unfortunate with the included breakfast that didn’t exist … in total it was fine. We could listen to a local band having rehearsal for a concert with traditional music :)

One of my favourite hostels I've been to. It's located about 300m or so from the city centre in a youth centre. The location itself is in an older traditional style Albanian house with yard and tall gate, but the interior of the house seems completely renovated. There's two seperate yards for hanging out in, as well as a 1st floor terasse. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and there are built in lockers with a key. I think there was a small cafe or bar too, but I didn't look closer. Highly recommen...

Très bonne auberge de jeunesse, le personnel est très sympathique ! On peut louer des vélos pour se balader autour du lac et en direction du Montenegro. Il y a un bar au sein de l’auberge également, et l’emplacement est au top. Le seul inconvénient était peut être le nombre trop faible de salles de bain et donc également de toilettes.

Great hostel! Lovely people who able to help with everything! Easy to travel to with the public bus. Super Hostel! Aardige mensen die overal mee willen en kunnen helpen. Goed te bereiken vanuit het openbaar vervoer. Kunnen je ook helpen met het boeken van tours, zo zijn wij naar Valbone gegaan voor een hike naar Theth.

Im generally not fussy but really wouldnt recommend this hostel. Theres no reception, the staff dont help you at all. They close the gate at 11pm and theres no one there to let you in, despite it saying "no curfew" on Hostelword. A cat shat on the couch in the kitchen, we told the staff about it and they said the cleaner would clean it in the morning. it was still there when we were checking out. Really unclean. It has such potential, with a lovely outdoor garden, bar and balconies but bad staff

I really appreciated my stay at Arka. I planned to stay one night but stayed for 4! After doing the Peaks of the Balkans hike, I appreciated the quiet atmosphere, extremely comfortable beds, washing and drying facilities and a shared room to myself. This is not a very social hostel (at least not at the end of September/the season) but was perfect for me who needed recovery, cleanliness, comfort and her own space after hiking. The free breakfast (coffee+croissant) at the bar is also a treat.

WiFi was not working properly and the toilet sit was broken. Kitchen utilities were super dirty and breakfast is a coffe with a dry croissant. Also keep in mind that at 11 pm they close the door from hostel because of covid regulations.

Pobyt bardzo udany. Dużo miejsca, gdzie można odpocząć. Jest też bar. Jedynie długo czekaliśmy na śniadanie

The best hostel I’ve stayed in. Great friendly vibe, big outdoor area to hang out, helpful and kind staff. I stayed for one night but wish I could have stayed for more. Nice bar, free breakfast, super clean bathrooms and rooms, thick comfy mattresses, cute artwork on the walls, cheap laundry service. Bike rental from hostel is a great way to spend the day exploring the lake area or castle. but to see the town of Shkoder you need to walk only 5 minutes down the street. fantastic place, highly r...
