Sigiriya Rastha Hostel

Had a wonderful experience at the Sigiriya Rastha hostel. Kostha and his family were very welcoming and friendly. They prepared great food and tendered to every need. Went on a great safari and tour of sigiriya. Cheers to Kostha and his family!

Wonderful hostel a little away from the hustle and bustle. Loved it. Very nice people!

Magnifique endroit au milieu de la jungle, on s'y sent bien ! Tout est très rustique, mais c'est surtout la "salle de bain" qui mériterait un beau glow up. On y mange divinement bien et j'ai rencontré de chouettes personnes même si on était très peu (entre 4 et 6 personnes).

My stay was quite a disappointing experience. When I got there the owner was barely looking at me and not very friendly. I booked a private room which turned out to be a small tent on a wooden platform with a roof - something you really can’t claim as a private room. So I ended up staying in the dorms. Anyway, the owner removed this „private room“ from the website as he told me. In the dorms there was mice poop on the mosquito nets above the beds and no reading light. Left early after one...

I was so happy staying here! Loved the family and a wild elephant walked past in the evening which was super special. Very rural and the people it attracted were magical. I’d love to go back

Super séjour chez Costha grâce aux activités proposées et son emplacement au milieu de la jungle. Ses petits dej typiques et ses repas ont régalé nos papilles ! Merci :)

What a stay! Koshta went above and beyond.Organized dinner and an elephant-safari, bought candles during a power cut that occured cause of heavy rain-fall and did had a drink with the guests. Beware that the hostel is located in the middle of the jungle and there's noise everywhere 😊 If you like a morning shower with cold water, monkeys trying to steal your stuff at night and some bugs and geckos every now and then, thus and authentic experience, this is the place to stay. Die Familie, die das Hostel betreibt, ist unglaublich nett. Ich war mit ihnen in einem Tempel und sie haben eine Safari organisiert. Das Hostel ist wie ein kleines Hippiedörfchen mitten im Grünen. Das Essen im Hostel ist so lecker.

We had a really good time there! The Host and his family were really kind and helped us finding new activities & things to see! When your open to an adventure (like sleeping in a selfmade Treehouse) thats the perfect place for you to stay. We‘re very thankful for everything & had a really good time. Cleary recommend it to everyone!

The hosts (Shani and Kostha) were trully the best. They showed us arround and helped us find a lot of fun stuff to do. They took us with them to go fishing like the lokals do and thought us how to cook rice and curry. It was so pleasant and it really felt like a familly. Al of us staying there gladly extended our stays as the atmosphere was really nice. We had a lot of fun in the evenings as we talked and laughed with them in the comon area. The nature around is very nice and i would recommend.

One of the best hostel in sigiriya. The host Rastha and his wife were super friendly. I stayed 2 nights here. 1st day rashtha took me to the lake and next day he dropped me at the sigiriya rock for free !. will definetly recommend to anyone.

Highly recommend! Overall, the highlight of my days until now in Sri Lanka. The owner, Kostha and his wife Shanika were two of the most helpful and kind hearted humans. They made us feel at home, sharing dinner with them, enjoying drinks in the evening or even dancing until dawn to whatever music we put on. Kostha showed us around all the good spots in town. We went to the safari in Minneriya together with their family which was such a wholesome experience. Love love love !

BRUHHHHHH,We came here as a group of 4 and it was perfect. They welcomed us in straight away. I felt really at home. The food was amazing and we cooked all together and had a cooking class. The room is so beautiful and colorful. It’s in a tree house, it’s super cool. Kostha drove us around and was so much fun. I highly recommend this hostel and I will definitely be coming back!!!! If you don’t like an intimate authentic experience don’t come here.
