I keep coming back to this hostel, ever since I first discovered it. It's one of the cheapest ones, if not the actual cheapest, the location can't be beat and the staff is wonderful! It's an older building that may not be as nice as some of the newer ones, but they take good care of it and I've seen lots of improvements made over time. The name of the hostel checks out – it really is like coming home every time I check in again.

although there are a lot of bad reviews this hostel is definitely alright to stay in! the staff was so lovely and helpful! i’ve seen people write about cockroaches and dirtiness… i myself didnt see any cockroaches, eben though the showers felt a bit dirty. still it is definitely alright to stay in!

Without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever stayed. They haven’t cleaned in months, the kitchen is disgusting, the bathrooms are neglected, and there’s a cockroach infestation. The beds are very old and the mattresses are terrible. No one ever cleans anything and the whole place smells bad. It was the worst experience and also the most expensive one. Dirty af, cockroaches everywhere, we had the same kitchen sponge in the sink for 10 days.

You get what you pay for. Great location, staff are very friendly and allowed me to store my bag for several hours after check-out. Could do with being more consistently cleaned though.

This hostel was disgusting. The owner was friendly, but on welcome he told us he knew how bad the hostel was and if there were any issues to tell him. Whilst we didn’t see rats, there were cockroaches everywhere in the room. One day the aircon broke and leaked everywhere and it stayed damp due to poor ventilation. The room stunk the whole time and was never properly cleaned. And to make it worse there was a man who came into our room, without knocking, and counted us as we went to sleep. Awful...

Don’t stay here, we booked as budget backpackers thinking it would just be a bit run down due to reviews and price but it was horrific. The place stank and was dirty. Everyone staying there seemed to be living there semi-permanently so everywhere was messy and smelly. Only positive is the nice man on reception, although not sure if you would even call it a reception as had to wait outside for ages at check in for someone to turn up.

Full of bugs and cockroaches. Smell like piss. Cheapest hostal near CBD. Posses everything around the block. Chill staff

Staff were amazing! Super welcoming and accommodating. They held my bag for the day, after I checked out. I wouldn’t walk around without shoes or slides, the carpets could use a good clean, but bed sheets and pillow cases were clean and bed set up was clean aswell. Location was amazing, a 5 minute walk to central station and super easy to access by bus and train. I would totally stay here again, served its purpose

Sehr dreckig! In den Bädern, Zimmern und in der Küche gab es viele Kakerlaken. Die Toiletten waren zum Teil so dreckig, dass ich lieber im Bahnhof auf Toilette gegangen bin. Außerdem waren die Zimmer und Duschen zum Teil nicht richtig abschließbar. Generell sind die Räumlichkeiten sehr heruntergekommen, es riecht muffig und ist dunkel. Aufhalten konnte man sich dort nicht. Für mich hat es sich nicht gelohnt, da es auch nicht nennenswert günstiger war als andere Hostels. Mitarbeiter...

Disgusting

Cafards partout, murs délabrés, moquettes infestées de bestioles. Bebe cafard, cheveux, poils dans le lit… C’est vraiment ghetto, la cuisine fait peur, mauvaises odeurs… Heureusement le personnel est vraiment gentil mais il faudrait vraiment refaire l’auberge à neuf, faire une désinsectisation et remplacer ces moquettes pourries. Il y a autrement un potentiel à exploiter mais pour le moment c’est affreux.

Cockroaches everywhere, whole place stinks, no one washes anything up, bed sheets weren’t clean, guy on the bunk below me was keeping milk cartons that would stink up the whole place for some reason (only realised that was the source of the smell on the last day), there’s a window in one of the bathrooms tha doesn’t close and if you look outside it you’ll see a giant dead rat covered in more cockroaches.

Good location and good helpful staff. Could use a hoover under beds and bathroom floors mopping but you get what you pay for and was overall a pleasant stay.

Everything is dirty, moldy or both. The kitchen is objectively too small for you and the twenty cockroaches living there full time and the entire place, specifically your sleeping quarters stink worse than a homeless person. I am pretty sure something died in the vents a couple decades ago and the filth of these bathrooms still haunt my nightmares. That being said I still fail to encapture the whole experience in words. If they offered me a private room for 5$ a night Id still take the parkben...

Ist gut wenn man nur Arbeiten möchte und danach Ruhe haben will. Günstig, aber dreckig und schlechte Atmosphäre. Gute Anbindung mit Bus und Bahn und ein Laundry store ist direkt nebenan.

Alles war so so dreckig!!!! Überall waren Kakerlaken im Bett, in der Küche, im Bad, Überall! Es hat auch sowohl in den Zimmern als auch im restlichen hostel gestunken. Geht nicht dort hin!! Alle Leute haben einen creepy Eindruck gemacht und die Türen waren Teilweise nicht abschließbar. Außerdem hat man im Bad die Ratten gesehen und gehört. Geht nicht dort hin!!

Not at all hygienic. Cockroaches everywhere, including the kitchen and bedrooms. Mold and dust everywhere. A place that smells and where people are creepy.

Staff were friendly and generously upgraded us, without us asking to a room with ensuite as we had two young kids with us. The first room we had I lay down on the bed and it had a lingering vomit smell. The whole place smelt damp and moldy and of cigarettes in other areas. Carpet was water stained throughout. There was black mould on the inside of the windows in the ensuite room and on walls and ceiling in bathroom. There were small cochroach type bugs on our beds at times. Not a healthy vibe.

Nice Location directly next to Sydney Central, has a laundromat next door and a cheap and amazing vegan restaurant. I got a room upgrade from the kind owner of the place i think, and had a room to myself that way for a really cheap price. It is currently winter so it was a bit cold, because the hostel isn't insulated and there where lots of open windows in the corridors and in every bathroom. Sadly the heater in my room was broken and there are only thin blankets on the bed. Good for the price.
