If you’re planning to stay in Flores only for 1-2 nights I would highly recommend you a different hostel on the island. - the free check in boat pick up let me wait for 30 minutes - basically the only option to do Tikal sunrise is booking with the hostel, otherwise you have to pay 50Q for the boat - door was never locked, didn’t even had a code/key - no key for the locker - I had to use the same shower/toilets as the hotel guests - not many food places around. Positive: you can swim.
It was a nice place to stay overall! Nice dorms with personal fans, room AC and privacy curtains. They are not located on Flores Island but offer a free boat to a from 4 times a day (50Q if you need pickup outside of set times). Food was good. Slight sewage smell in the secondary common area, so no one was there. However, the dock pictured was smell free and safe to swim right off the dock. Would recommend!
An excellent hostel, The only issues were no way to secure my locker in the dorm and the staff were at times hard to communicate with, I understand it’s a Spanish speaking country but some English speaking staff would be good, Other than that it’s one of the very best hostels i’ve stayed at
Stayed here twice. Loved this hostel. Only bad thing was having to get lanchas back and forth since it’s not on the main island.
Really nice property and nice dock to chill on in the sun with a view on the islita of flores!! Beds were so comfortable, I was on the 3rd floor of a bunk but i felt almost like in my bed at home! The only things a bit inconvenient were: you have to take a boat every time when you go to the city and there are only free rides every few hours… otherwise you pay like 1$ which is also fine. And sometimes there was a bit of weird smell in the common area. Attention: washing is crazy expensive, we p...
Super lovely
Super Hostel alles durchdacht.
Based on the other reviews, we had really high expectations for this hostel. However a couple essential elements were missing; the lockers didn’t work, the fan and light didn’t work, the shared bathroom didn’t have a lock to the door and the sink was part of the already crammed dorm. There was also a general bad smell that lingered and made the stay quite unpleasant. Nothing was really off but in general I would say you can find better value for your money elsewhere.
This is one of my favourite hostels I have ever stayed in. I stayed in the female only dorm and the view from our balcony was stunning to wake up to. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. It is a bit of a pain going to the main island as you have to get a lancha evrytime so it’s not walkable.
Had a lovely stay at this hostel! Nice spacious beds in the 12 dorm which felt private! And I loved the dock and restaurant area, it’s a lovely place to chill by the lake! The only thing I’d say to improve is have more sinks
I loved this hostel and had such a great stay! It was the perfect place for me to recharge after a busy few weeks. Some people mention the location though it’s very easy and cheap to get to the island from the hostel. The staff was great, the rooms are amazing, esp the 6 bed room, and it was so nice to be able to jump right into the lake. I would for sure stay here again!
This one's a bit of a fancier hostel, we used it to relax after our El Mirador trek. They have boats taking you to Isla de Flores and times when they run free boats back to the hostel. There is a couple shops and restaurants around but the hostel offers yummy food too. The beds were quite comfy and you get a lot of privacy with the curtains
We really enjoyed our stay here and wished we’d booked another night to explore Flores a bit more! We had tea one evening and the food was lovely. They happily arrange earlier boats for us when we had to leave before 6am, we just asked them the night before
great hostel on the water, can go swimming and chill on the deck. the rooms are excellent. only thing i would add is more toilets. and there is not much food options around.
I really liked this place. The location is magical. The room was super clean, had everything. The staff is kind. Only the food prices are a bit too high for what they are. For solo travelers i think its easy here to meet people and hang out.
It's a beautiful new hostel, very clean and pretty. However, it's not a hostel hostel. There are no activities and there's no kitchen. There's only your room and the restaurant. Every time when you go over to the island, you need to pay 10G pp, or 20G in the evening. After 22.00ish, there are no more boats running, which is very stressful. The hostel does try to help with boat services, but I'm not sure if they would pick you up after midnight
Very clean hostel with great rooms. Location isn’t amazing for exploring Flores but it’s peaceful and good if you’re wanting to relax.
Great spot right on the lake! My favorite hostel of 3 I tried, only about $1 USD for the 5 minute or less boat ride across the water. And the dorm beds were super comfy and felt very private!
Really beautiful new hostel that is located across the lake. So perfect for relaxing, swimming and kayaking. Would definitely stay here again!
