If you want to experience the local culture, definitely stay with Pipie and friends in Shaka House!! We were greeted so warmly and it really felt like home. It was Hari Raya, and we were invited to join the celebrations! Pipie and Qee took us to a lot of beautiful spots around the island and we watched the sunset together every day 🥰 We would definitely recommend going here!! The house is lovely and has everything you need 🏡🍃🏝🌺🐒

Shaka is the perfect base to experience the beauty of langkawi. Piepie and kee welcomed us like friends and it felt like home quickly. Our time with them and the time exploring the hidden places together with Piepie, really fed our souls. If you love exploring nature, enjoy the simple things, music, food and community, then Shaka will be the perfect place for your stay. This is my second stay at Shaka and it’s so lovely! The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, Pipie will show you all the best spots for food, sunset and memories! The whole place is kept very clean and tidy, with a cool surf aesthetic. Would 100% recommend, especially musical/creative people!

Ein sehr netter Gastgeber. Wer gerne Orte entdeckt die nicht so einfach selber zu finden sind ist bei Pipie genau richtig. Er hat uns einfach so weil er es gerne tut schöne Orte gezeigt und ist mit uns gemeinsam dort hin gefahren. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit

Our stay at Shaka Garden was pleasant, the area has some great restaurants and is a close walk to the beach. I'd definitely rent a bike to explore the island as there isn't too much walking distance activities in the area. The hosts are lovely and accommodating, the hostel was quiet (only space for 6 people) which we didn't mind. I'd happily recommend!

What can I say. This might be the most welcoming and homely hostel I have ever stayed in. I’m not sure I’d even want to call it a hostel, I felt like I was staying with friends. Our hosts Pipie and Qee are truly wonderful people, they have a passion for nature and beautiful sunset spots. We spent most of our time being guided around the natural wonders of Langkawi: waterfalls, jungles and idyllic islands. Amazing place. The place alone makes you want to come back to the island again. Pipi is the best hostel host you can wish for. He shows you the island like no guide could, he knows all the spots. Immaculate island vibes in the garden as well. Definitely will come back. follow the sun 🤙

Very bad experience, one of the worst I’ve had traveling. On arrival, I waited 40 minutes because the owner was not there. When he arrived, he didn’t give me the key and kept me waiting outside, despite me saying several times I was exhausted after a long trip. The money/change situation was horrible: first day “no change”, second day he gave me less money than he should. My motorbike was moved without permission. I wanted to leave, but I had already paid for a private room. NOT RECOMM...

I had a really lovely stay here. The hostel was clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere, but what really made the experience special was the host. Pipie was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations or questions. You could tell he genuinely cared about his guests and goes the extra mile to make everyone feel at home. I’d absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

If you want a chill, real island experience then you should stay here. Pipie goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. He showed me the island every day and took me to the best places. There is so many activities to do, kayaking, rent motorbike, surfing (in season), local live music and places to eat etc. can’t recommend it enough!! As a solo female traveller I felt so safe, too. Everyone I met here was just wonderful ! Follow the sun!!

owner is absolutely brilliant , listening to him and his friends play music and involve us In their daily activities was really fun. he knows the island amazingly, happy to help and feel so safe and comfortable staying in his property. this chap makes this place amazing. yes it's pretty basic and minimal, but you really don't need much more if you're staying for a few days and want to see the beach and do a bit of exploring

Great chill place to stay near lots of restaurants and nice beach. Great property really comfortable with great staff and a friendly puppy

This Homestay is just amazing! The outside area is very nice to hang out. Pipie is a very nice dude who helps you with everything if needed. I can also highly recommend the jetski tour he offers, it was awesome!! I will definetly come back if i visit Langkawi again.

Een heel fijn verblijf gehad, de eigenaar doet zijn best om je het eiland te laten zien en voor te stellen aan veel locals. Dit was een bijzondere ervaring. Wel moet je ervoor open staan om locals te leren kennen, want er komen veel mensen over de vloer en het contact met de hostel eigenaar is veel wanneer je in het hostel bent. Het is meer een gezamenlijk huis. Wij hebben er een heel goed verblijf gehad en een geweldige ervaring opgedaan, maar goed om bovenstaande te weten.
