Great little hostel, perfect for a surf trip to Newquay

In general, it's a good Hostel. The location is great, nearby from everything. The kitchen is a little bit small, and they can have more stuff to cook, but overall it's good. It's super clean, everyday there is someone cleaning the kitchen and the toilet. It's a surfer vibe so everything is nice. The bed is not the best one, on every bed we have we can feel the spring in the mattress. For the price it's worth it

Always enjoy staying at Breakwater/Backpackers. Consistently good hospitality/ facilities/ atmosphere. This time no different. Relaxed check-out was a nice bonus this time

No Backpacker-Vibe, plenty of (middle)-aged men who are not travelling but working in the surroundings. Toilets are few and often very dirty. Also no places for hanging clothes in the rooms or for putting luggage. Nice though it is close to Fistral Beach. Could be a beautiful place with some amendments.

Lovely place with character, lovely and very much caring staff.. Thank you for each special treat.. They even give breakfast cereals additional to hot drinks. Thx a lot also for advices!!!

Great location next to Fistral beach and local amenities. Very loud hostel in an old building so no soundproofing, breakfast very basic, free tea and coffee throughout day, basic facilities throughout. Could do with lockers in the room and more plug sockets. Staff friendly

Nice stay. Friendly staff and cheap room. Would suggest adding some lockers that guests can use as we were just leaving our valuables in the shared dorm room relying solely on trust. Thanks for hosting.

It was a good and clean hostel, but they will let anyone who pays stay here. In my room there was an absolutely FILTHY old man with two GIANT bags. His girlfriend had kicked him out of the house for his drinking (he was still visibly drunk). The hostel is a good location and people were friendly, but they need to be stricter with their admittance policy. Also it was annoying that my room had no lockers or safes to secure my items, so I just had to hope nobody would run off with my valuables.

Breakwater hostel is located right near Fristol beach (great if you're looking to surf) and is a great place to meet new people. There weren't any lockers to store your personal belongings, however reception did offer to take them for you. I had a lovely stay and it's good value for money.

The staff were accommodating when we requested to change rooms after being awake for hours due to another guest excessively snoring so loud. The place has a chilled out vibe about it and they have a kitchen to cook in to save money from eating out.

Etwas chaotisches aber herzliches Surfer-Hostel das einem viel Möglichkeit für neue Kontakte bietet. Leider waren meine Reisepartnerin und ich nicht im gleichen Zimmer untergebracht obwohl ich für uns beide gebucht hatte.

Great location, 5 minutes to Fistral beach, few minutes to Sainsbury and town. It's basic, but it does cover all needs. Ie use of big kitchen, coffe and tea availability, wetsuit hire ...

Was super impressed with this hostel, the overall vibe was super chill and friendly and the staff were so amazing, they invited us to go surfing with them and for drinks, ect. Very close to the beach and the kitchen was great (free breakfast too!) plus the wetsuit and board storage was very helpful. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a social hostel!!
