The Island Garden Hotel

+ We do not recommend this hotel. It was a huge disappointment. We also want to warn all Booking.com customers. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager told us that we had to pay in cash. He claimed that their payment terminal would charge us twice if we used a credit card—something that immediately made us very suspicious. He kept bringing up the subject of cash and pressing us about it. To us, these inquiries regarding money felt unsafe. Furthermore, a couple of days later, we requested extra towels; the young woman who brought them to us did not fetch them from the linen closet (where fresh towels are kept—right next to the trash bins, incidentally), but rather took them from one of the guest rooms. In the photos, the hotel looks spacious, but in reality, it is not. They used specific camera angles to make the grounds appear much larger than they actually are. Four days into our stay, we requested housekeeping service; however, they didn't even replace our towels, leaving the old ones hanging in the bathroom. Our Booking.com reservation stated that we would have a room with a garden view. Instead, we had no balcony whatsoever, and our view consisted solely of the trash bins located directly below our window. It is such a beautiful country, and it is truly a shame that the service at this hotel is so poor—and feels so unsafe. We have been using Booking.com for many years, and this is the first time we have ever had such an unpleasant experience with a hotel!

+ The bar

- There's no daily cleaning

+ Close proximity to great beaches and airport and price. Pool was nice.

- Property hasn’t been upgraded in long time. Bathroom was not pleasant. TV didn’t work Wasn’t provided with basic toiletries, towels or hairdryer. Very loud music from bar every night.

+ Nothing

- They dont change you bed and clean the room onless you request. One was rag to bath with and one towel. For you to get another one you have to request. The first night I fell down because the staff that was taking me to my room never tell me there was a step up.

+ Totaal niets!

- Onhygiënisch overal. Kamer, badkamer, zwembad, receptie. Alles was vies!

+ The staff is very welcoming and would do anything you feel happy with your stay.

- The rooms in first floors have mold and musty smell. Second floors better.

+ Just the location.

- My room was dirtly, noisy and dramaticaly old and decrepit. There was not even a mirror in the bathroom. No hot water in the morning. A used condom was left on a side close to the bed. Where I reported the matter, the lady at teh desk did not bulge much... It simply took it away.

+ There is no breakfast here but we liked that it was within walking distance of a grocery store, a StarBucks and the Mexacaba restaurant.

- We had to wait for extra towels and a roll away bed. The night shift was short handed.

+ Fajny,przyjemny hotelik na jedną czy dwie nocki polecam,czysto.

- Problem z prysznicem

+ The shower did not work, and at 3 in the night people start drinking at the pool outside your room.

+ Nothing

- I couldn’t believe that still in 2026 standards can be so low. Nobody empty my bin during 7 days ! It was hot or cold water under the shower. In the room were bugs. Reception was closed when was needed. No hair dryer no glass, plate. Someone had a lot of fun in the hotel I’m not sure if clients or employees till midnight almost everyday. There is a pool but no sunbeds so I guess it’s only for decoration. Very dirty rooms. Nobody came to change my towels but in the day of my check out cleaning lady knocked to me twice.

+ The staff was nice, warm, and welcoming.

- Property left much to be desired. I wasn’t impressed with my room. I felt unsafe as the patio attached to my room could be accessed by others and the patio door didn’t lock. The soap was from another hotel. The bartender didn’t say the bar was cash only.

+ All People are nice and the internal bar is a plus

- Room not clean enough, forniture too ‘basic’, my room was not cleaned between one night and the next The reception is in very poor condition, with disorder and uncleanliness throughout

+ Good location to be near airport for 1 overnight stay to get a connecting flight. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good price for 1 nigh

- The rooms could do with an update. The twin room had dirty pillows and plastic sheets on the beds. The music in the bar was too loud compared to the distance to the rooms.
