Hostal Onahu Chacahua

Really beautiful place with kind staff, lovely dog. Kitchen, bathrooms and toilets were okay, you’re definitely in a hut on the beach but everything worked. Beds are pod style and comfy enough. Tiny hostel so the vibe is very chilled and friendly.

Onahu est un très bel hostel sur la plage à quelques minutes à pied du centre du village. Tout y est confortable et l’équipe est adorable !

I had a great stay at Onahu. Especially if you are looking for a more social place, it’s a great choice. Everything is clean, the beds are comfortable and you are basically living on the Beach. Max and Alex make you feel super welcome and help you with everything you need. Just be aware that because Chacahua is a more remote place, there sometimes might be no electricity and consequently also no water, because Most places have electric water pumps.

Mijn vriendin en ik zijn uiteindelijk 8 nachten hier gebleven. De eigenaren, Max en Alex, zorgen er echt voor dat je je thuis voelt. Het zit op een mooie locatie op loopafstand van alle restaurants en surfscholen. Het is heel fijn dat er een gedeelde keuken is, want veel accommodaties in Chacahua hebben dat niet. De sanitaire voorzieningen zijn ook uitstekend. Special shoutout naar Estrella, de liefste hond ooit, die je graag gezelschap houdt tijdens je tripjes naar het centrum.

This hostel is unreal, rooms are sweet and not stinking hot at night. Also a super good location. The best part are the owners Max and Alex, they're absolute legends who will organise everything you need and take you to surf, fish, party, whatever you're into. 10/10 have to stay here if you're crusing through Chacahua.

Warm reception from Alex and Max, two friendly, hard-working men.Tidy,clean,good sized rooms,queen size comfy bed,ample floor fan.Shared toilets and showers always clean.Common areas well looked after.Hammocks.Well stocked kitchen.WiFi.Reliable laundry service.Towels for hire.Tours- bioluminescence,mangroves,fishing,surfing.Close to the main street for shops and restaurants,NO ATM but a couple of shops will take card.2 min walk to the beachGreat place to lose yourself and melt away the daze....

The best hostel I stayed so far!!!! Ohnahu is really special - just like the island Chacahua. The Hosts Alex and Max are the best. Very kind, chill and helpfull. We went fishing with Alex, relaxed at the beautiful (selfmade!) hostel and went swimming in the ocean. The cutest dog ever, Estrella always followed us to the beach. The hostel is cozy, clean and ecological. At night you can see so many stars and sometimes there is a fire at the hostel. Surfboards can be rented right next door.

petit paradis où tout est fait pour que l'on se sente à la maison. vous pourrez compter sur la bienveillance de Max et Alex pour vous faire l'expérience Chacahua à fond - y venir c'est prendre le risque de ne jamais repartir !

lovely hostel slightly off of the main beach so felt very safe and secluded,they had good wifi and very handy bug nets over the beds, theres little kitchen with everything you need plus cute firepit which can be lit every evening if you want it! Not many people there for our short stay so not much of an atmosphere but people and staff we did meet were very friendly:) perfect spot to chill and surf in chacahua for a few days!
