Hostel Bad Goisern

Had the most amazing stay here. Location is great, not far from Hallstatt and many beautiful hikes. Nadiia at reception helped me out so much giving me help and advice about my trip. She’s so kind and friendly, thank you!

Never wrote a review- but genuinely my favorite hostel. You are greeted by a sweet dog the moment you arrive, and the hostel has everything you can possibly need and is a great location to Hallstatt. Highly recommend

Great property, and place to stay. Anna (the owner) has just very much a dry sense of humor but I understand why people might not be huge fans of him, he’s knowledgeable and if you get to know him he’s pretty funny

Very welcoming atmosphere and guests. Everything is very simple, although I can understand some of the negative reviews from some women.

expensive (but everything around there is) but decent hostel to visit hallstatt area from. the owner was a little strange at first but he is pretty chill and nice. people are cool in the hostel too as everyone is there to hike and explore the mountains

The owner of the hostel is a very unsettling gentleman who made me feel unsafe. This was made worse by the two showers and toilets that are non-gendered and DO NOT HAVE LOCKS! A friend asked if she could move rooms as she felt uncomfortable in a 6 bed dorm as the only female and instead of listening and understanding, the owner blew up at her, shouting and swearing.

L'hostel est propre. Village très charmant 6 à pied de la gare Bad Goisern. Bonnes connexions en bus et trains pour faire des belles randonnées dans les montagnes, l'hostel vous donne directement les cartes et les horaires des bus en papier. Point touriste info à 1min de l'hostel pour vous aider en plus. Les lacs et montagnes sont incroyablement belles. ➡️Attention tout est cher dans les alentours de cette zone, (bus, téléphérique, train, nuits...) c'est assez touristique en é...

Manager was rude and dismissive. It was vague where to check in. The coed bathroom was awkwardly through the kitchen and did not leave room for much privacy

Location is amazing ! Close to everything in town ! On another note,iinsufficient soap to wash hands and no dish soap anywhere to be found, no hand towels anywhere, and 1 clogged shower and no locks or privacy spaces in showers in shared bathroom.

Such a cool place. Great atmosphere here as its a quaint place in the mountains and easy to meet people in the room/kitchen. Theres also a bar downstairs and a good restaurant next to it. Good vibes all around. Beds were SO comfortable. Highly recommend making this a stop

El trato ha sido bastante antipático y condescendiente. Además me han cobrado de más (cancelé una noche a tiempo, sin coste, y a la hora de pagar las otras dos noches hicieron las cuentas de manera que me salió más cara la estancia. Por no discutir, acabé pagando). Por lo demás, la estancias son las típicas de un hostel, no demasiado cuidadas, aunque la zona está bien comunicada y es bonita.

We had an absolute blast here. Only here for one night but the staff was incredibly welcoming and casual, took are bags and poured us a beer and said we’d worry about check in later. Hostel is tucked in a great little alley with a few restaurants. Definitely hit Gosau for a hike!

Loved staying here as an affordable option near Hallstatt. Was also pleased with options for hiking nearby. The hostel had everything I needed, good kitchen and bathrooms. No lockers in the room but was happy to keep my bag locked under the beds. The staff were very helpful for suggestions in the area and allowing luggage storage after checkout until I needed to leave.

Great place, friendly staff, very clean, and short walk to the train station. Very easy to get to Hallstatt! But Bad Goisern is a very charming place in of itself! And there are lots of great hikes around!

This hostel was good! I liked it here. The only issue was the mold growing in the single shower bathroom, and no hooks on the multi shower bathroom, it was difficult to get dressed after showering. Great host and great location.

Super great hostel!!! Good beds, facilities, and well equipped kitchen. Location is in the mountains and close by to hikes and to Hallstatt etc without being overly touristy - really nice area. Short train ride from lots of places. The owner was very knowledgeable and helped me plan my stay. Family run as well - a huge thank you to the owners son, who spent about an hour helping me trying to retrieve a micro sd card I’d dropped behind some skirting in the common room. 10/10 would recommend!!...
