Nice stay!
Love the hammocks
En mi punto de vista es unos de los mejores hostel que hay en surf city "EL TUNCO" el personal A1 amable y empático, cuando regrese ese sera mi casa y lo recomiendo.
Great location. Excellent facilities. Delicious breakfast. Stayed in an 8 person dorm. Met fun beautiful people. Clean, comfortable. Good surfboard rental selection on site.
I only stayed there for one night, but it was great. It’s a big hostel and they really know what travelers need. The reception staff speaks very good English, and you can pay by card. The rooms have AC. They also offer free breakfast, which was really good. If you’re looking for a hostel right in the middle of El Tunco, this is the place to be!
Central location, but right across from a bar that plays loud music throughout the day until late at night, so not the place to get any sleep if you're catching an early shuttle out of town or early morning surf lesson. Atmosphere not the most social, despite as advertised (as was the same opinion of others there I spoke to). Could have just been the crowd during the one day I stayed there
Very nice location , nice pollo and super good breakfast. Has good hammocks area and your can do surf lessons with nice instructors. I belive it can be a bit cheaper but the area is expensive in general. Cools rooms and we found clean toilets and showers.
Amazing location, rooms had great AC and clean bathrooms, no bar or activities however the location is basically on the beach so much to do around in the area
Decent hostel right in town which is convenient (the town isn't super nice though) Not crazy social (No whatsapp group for example), but decent facilities and a nice pool to dip in. Breakfast was ok, but appreciate it being included.
Reception was very accommodating, I was arriving super late and they arranged for airport pickup at that time. Got to hostel and got the tour of the place and what was offered. Staff was amazing and very welcoming and served any questions I had as well as gave great recommendations. Great location with beach, food, bars, coffee, convenience store absolutely walking distance. Would definitely recommend!
Papaya Lodge is one of the more popular options in town, with a nice pool, new beds, and very clean facilities. It’s just a 2-minute walk to the main beach and surrounded by countless bars and restaurants. The dorm setup could be better, beds are lined up next to each other with no bunks or privacy. It’s also not very social with no organized events, and staff could be more interactive and helpful with local tips. That said, it’s a great spot for surfing and relaxing, with a handy rent
Great place to stay, close to everything and great value! Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Easy access to Sunzal point break and local restaurants and night life. Which means you will be hearing nightlife from your bedroom. I'm totally fine with that. Delicious breakfast included. Ok selection of rental surfboards for only $12/day BUT watch out for existing repairs on the rail that are not properly reinforced with fiberglass. It will break again and you will pay. Pool is nice. Great place to meet people. Staff are great. No towel racks or clothes hooks was annoying.
A really expensive hostel with rundown rooms and bathrooms and extremely noisy all night
They tried to convince us that the hostel word price we paid beforehand was only a hostel world fee and that we had to pay the full price again. The kitchen very limited and everything was dirty. The room smelled like sewer and we had a 50 year old man in our dorm witch made me uncomfortable. The pool was nice and the hostel was social. The included breakfast was good.
Comfortable beds and good aircon which was on 24/7. Good facilities, lots of social areas though no events, not much of a social atmosphere (mostly because a lot of people here to surf for longer rather than backpacking). Breakfast was great, a few choices available.
El Tunco is expensive for El Salvador but this hostel is one of the more expensive in the town. The facilities feel a bit run down and the kitchen and bathrooms felt perpetually dirty, and the beds in the downstairs dorms felt borderline unsafe. The staff were so friendly though and the location couldn’t be better - if you’re just here to surf or you have friends staying elsewhere in the town then this place is perfect. Didn’t feel very social but I was here the week after a major surf ...
great location and free breakfast was a major bonus! decent place to stay but overall felt gross, and the bathrooms definitely needed more cleaning. they only provide a wifi code for 48 hours- i only stayed 3 nights so this wasn’t a big deal but something to keep in mind
I arrived in a crazy busy time, but the hostel was still able to maintain its cleanliness and most of the staff were super kind. Great location and I appreciated the breakfast.
