Great place to stay for exploring Lamu!

I stayed here for a couple nights and absolutly loved it. The place has a cozy feel to it and the rooftop is relaxing. Arnold, the owner, gave me so much information about the town and reccomendations on places to vist, returants, and local events.

My stay at JamboHouse was really nice. BUT: the last day while walking to the sea front catching a boat and a but with TAWAKAL, at 4:30 in the morning, i was caught in an embush. 2 guys assaulted me, pushed me on the ground, and cut the handles of my handbag with machette!! Please be cautious and don't walk alone at this hour in the streets of lamu. Ask somebody to escort you!

Spent 4 lovely nights at JamboHouse - a great location to discover Lamu island and surroundings. Arnold and Fred are super friendly and provided many recommendations and tips for local things to do. Thank you!

I shall recommend my friends Jumbo House. Host and staff are very kind. And breakfast is very delicious. Especially, the host has explained about travel information and he helped that I sell train ticket in advance with his M pera. By means of his help I enjoyed Lsmu.

Amazing stay at the Jambo house!! Arnold was an incredible host who will welcome you with open arms. The room was very clean and spacious with a very nice fan included too. I highly recommend staying here as you get to truly experience Lamu town and you can do day trips to the beach which Arnold can help you organize. Very great experience here!!!

Had such a lovely stay at Jambo house. Arnold is incredibly welcoming and took his time to show us local restaurants and how to get around. The free breakfast is also amazing - Fred makes the best eggs! There's a lovely rooftop to relax on and it's in a perfect location to explore Lamu.

Arnold the owner will go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and having a good time. He gave so much information about the area and lots of recommendations. He is very interesting guy who has traveled a lot!! There is a lovely rooftop terrace and breakfast was great! The room is simple and clean. Will definitely recommend to stay here and we will come again.

JamboHouse is an outstanding value right in the middle of Lamu Town. The staff is exceptional and does a fantastic job helping guests plan original activities. Additionally, the premise is safe, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the sun terrace is a lovely (and relaxing) touch. Highly highly recommend for all travelers visiting Lamu Island!

Very well located hostel and the host Arnold was very knowledgeable and helpful in organising trips. The rooms were adequate and had all the necessary facilities. The food was also good. Unfortunately, when my friend went to sit on one of the woven sunbeds due to being mouldy/wet her foot went through it and she has suffered some moderately severe injuries. The host wasn’t particularly helpful nor apologetic and the first aid kit was poor. We also got food poisoning from the cooking course.

Muy contentos en Jambohouse. El propietario es muy atento y detallista. Al llegar te da un mapa y explica zonas de interes i recomendaciones para comer o comprar. todo muy limpio y desayunos muy ricos. El wifi funciona bien y aunque no hay agua caliente (lo normal aquí con ese precio) no sale muy fria. Recomendable 100%. ubicado para descubrir Lamu en su estado más puro. Old Town sorprendente, y descubres su magia segun pasan las horas

Stayed here for a week and didn't regret it. The room had everything I needed, and I enjoyed perching up on the rooftop, drinking coffee, enjoying the sun, and reading. Arnold is incredibly helpful and gives every guest a look over a map, points out places of interest in Lamu town, and helps with anything needed throughout the stay. Enjoy the stillness and feel of Lamu while there and make sure to make some local friends.

Great experience at Jambohouse - only wish we were staying in Lamu longer! The hostel was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in arranging experiences and had tips on what to do and what to avoid. We did a cooking class with a local family that was incredible. Would recommend.
