The volunteers were so lovely and accommodating. They were so inclusive and kept you informed and involved always and did their best to keep the place clean I loved the atmosphere they created. Our private room was great and spacious but a bit pricey for what you got. The fan was a bit mid as was the plastic door separating room/bathroom. The location is good, 20 mins to Talamanca and 20 mins to Coco but quicker if you rent a bike from the hostal which we did.
The room was nice and bathrooms are kept very clean. It’s in a great location right next to the beach and the cafe connected to it has great affordable food. The kitchen in the hostel needs a better food storage system, both nights I was there my food was taken, 1 night by animals and the other night I’m not sure but there should be a lock up on the pantry as it’s an outdoor kitchen. The staff is nice, lots of volunteers just hanging around.
We booked a private room but only had fans rather than an AC (as advertised). The fan was also very noisy. Otherwise, the room was good. The main issue was the kitchen, it just didn’t feel clean and the utensils/pans are definitely due for a replacement.
Lovely, friendly, and welcoming host!
I had a wonderful time staying at Tasty Dayz hostel. Everyone was so nice and helpful and I truly felt safe there. Thank you so much for the hospitality and I would gladly return and recommend Tasty Dayz to others
Hostel has a large nice kitchen which is nice. We only stayed a night and left early so didn’t get a full feel for the place. Berths were basic, but the property is very pretty.
We stayed over silvester and it was a chill but very calm hostel. The location is a bit far from town (walk on the street) but close to the beach. Wifi sometimes doesn’t work. Otherwise a calm place in the nature.
Nice Hostel if you’re travelling on budget ! The staff is super cool and kind but the hostel is a bit far away from everything (except the beach) so you have to walk a minimum of 20mn for everything and the shower are not well equipped (cold water)
Loved this hostel - super fun jungle vibes. Even saw a sloth above the outdoor showers. Private 4 bed room was very nice - aircon was a big added bonus. Kitchen was pretty good - big enough for everyone there. Proximity to the beach was amazing - 2 minute walk. Also very near lots of restaurants/bars including the hostels own restaurant/bar. Lots of events hosted at the hostel. Staff were helpful including organising our laundry and taxi services. Would recommend if staying in Puerto Viejo.
Great spot next to the beach, very chilled atmosphere, big kitchen and friendly people! you can rent a snorkeling gear for free during your stay too! Recommended!
The worst hostel that I stayed so far. The room has never been cleaned in 1 week staying. No common area to use, hammocks were terribly uncomfortable and they was always wet clothes hanging above them so the hammocks were almost always wet to use. The room incredible hot and the beds felt like sleeping on the rocks overused I guess! I also gott dengue virus with several pains in the whole body and no one asked how I am feeling or I need something expect one of the volunteers the last day.
only stopped here for one night. wish i had spent all my time in Puerto Viejo here
Waren nur für eine Nacht in dem Hostel und das war auch ganz gut so. Hostel an sich nichts besonderes, aber Volunteers waren sehr lieb. Getränke in der eigenen Bar sehr gut und günstig! :)
we really loved this hostel, the dorms were small but comfy and the atmosphere was great all round
Cool quirky hostel with on-site bar and restaurant with regular activities. We stayed in the private double with ensuite which was its own self contained building which was nice. It was however very musty in the room with little ventilation so our clothes felt and smelt of damp by the time we left (this may just be the result of costa rica in rainy season though). Location was a 30 minute walk out of the centre of town, which was a slight pain especially when walking back at night. They hav...
A nice hostel with a good price. The man in reception was very friendly and helpful.
