Ein richtig tolles Hostel mitten im Dschungel. Wir konnten Brüllaffen ganz nah sehen.

Todo estuvo muy bien en el hostal. La habitación fue cómoda y el trato del personal, excelente. Cuentan con una cocina de fácil acceso que casi nunca está ocupada. En general, disfrutamos mucho nuestra estancia.

Esperienza incredibile! L’atmosfera del Madre Selva è super, il proprietario disponibilissimo e le persone che ho conosciuto fantastiche :) stanze pulite, bagni puliti, tutto molto pulito. L’ostello è nel bel mezzo della giungla, ma a 15 minuti a piedi da supermercati e dalla spiaggia di Cocles. Ideale per chi vuole rilassarsi Senza rinunciare alla vicinanza con il centro del villaggio. Si può anche camminare fino a Puerto Viejo o prendere un uber o affittare delle bici. 100% raccomandato...

I love this hostel. There was no one else staying there but it was so peaceful. The staff was so helpful and I would definitely come back here.

Si el objetivo del hostel es hacerte sentir como en casa, este lugar sin duda lo logró con facilidad! 💘 Excelente el ambiente, el personal, el lugar en general y lo que ofrece, pase una semana y me senti super comoda, la cocina esta bien completa, el dormitorio siempre se mantiene limpio a pesar de la cantidad de gente, mismo baños, duchas y areas comunes. Pablo el dueño, un genio siempre dando una mano y ayudando a resolver lo que necesites. Mas que agradecida, y super recomiendo! ...

I loved staying here. Very calm and relaxed atmosphere, nice people and colourfull surroundings 🌞 I saw a toucan, sloths and monkeys in the backyard

Nice, lovely Hostel. Dorm, bathroom&kitchen were clean and there even is a TV with Netflix on it. I enjoyed the nature&silence surounding thd hostel. Only thing if you don't have a bicycle/car&dont want to depend on the bus schedule, it's a one hour walk to Puerto Viejo centre.

I had an amazing time at Madre Salva. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! My phone even had water dammage and they figured out how to help me get it working again. You are in the thick of the jungle so the noises at night are great! Great for the price and i definitely recommend.

Pablo was an incredible owner! He went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. Loved the free coffee in the mornings and the chill, laid back vibe of the hostel. If you want to relax in nature and have a break from the over stimulation of bigger city hostels, this is the perfect spot. It’s a bit of a walk to the main road so just anticipate walking or renting a bike. I read a review saying that the dog was mean but that’s so untrue- she’s lovely.

Das Hostel liegt abgelegen, am Abend ist der Weg dahin nicht gut ausgeleuchtet. Der Hund war manchmal agressiv und irgendwie hat es keinen gekümmert. Es gab keinen Nachtwächter und die Zimmer sind nicht verschließbar. Die Küchenutensilien haben längst ihren Zenit überschritten und die Küche hatte ein Ameisenproblem. Auch, wenn die Leute nett waren, würde ich nicht wieder buchen.

We had such a great time at this hostel. The volunteers are so kind and so fun, there are free bikes you can use to get around the town, and the overall atmosphere is just so relaxed. It is also located a bit off the main road so you can see the stars at night & be more in the nature of Cocles. 10/10 recommend!

READ IMPORTANT!! New management, new owner. I highly recommend visiting this place—Pablo, the owner, makes you feel right at home. The rooms are comfortable, safe, spacious, the kitchen is well-equipped, and they offer free coffee. The facilities are being renovated, and the cleanliness is noticeable throughout. Plus, the natural surroundings draw you in, with two friendly pets and plenty of open spaces to enjoy a getaway from the city and breathe fresh air. It's my favorite spot in Puerto Vie...
