I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The staff, especially Sudath, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. He was always willing to help with any questions I had and shared some great local tips. The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Also, it was a lovely surprise to see that they had kitten babies on-site! I highly recommend this place for its friendly atmosphere and excellent service.

We loved to stay in the saltwater hostel, the people are so friendly and help you with everything you need!

L’ostello è molto bello le camera sono grandi e pulite peccato, 15 m a piedi dal centro. Il manager ci ha trattato in modo arrogante e non carino dicendoci che gli avevamo promesso di far surf quando avevamo solo chiesto informazioni per la mattina seguente.

amazing place, garden is insane. it’s a bit far from the city but if you wanna chill from the busy city center is amazing, plus it’s only 5 mins walk to all the restaurants and stuff going on. super clean , amazing stuff , good environment.

Really nice place a little bit outside of Arugam Bay. Within 15 minutes of walking you’re in the city center where you can find shops and restaurants :)

Literally worst hostel experience of my life. None of the ACs worked. We arrived and it was brutally hot. I asked for a fan because AC was not working. The next day I told them again to please fix it, after I was gone all day at the beach I come to find all my things were packed and moved by the staff. Which is completely unacceptable. Had put someone on my bed and apparently moved me to another room which the AC was ALSO broken. Staff also argued with me about this whole situation.

We only stayed here two night but the girls we shared a room with stayed longer and had issues with the owner who was being inappropriate and overly friendly to the point of making us and them uncomfortable. The hostel itself was chilled but not the cleanest. It is a little far out but still walkable.

AC didn’t work, bathroom smelled due to poor drainage, beds were shaky, and reading lights kept turning off. The hostel is a hot 20-min walk from the city. The biggest problem was the owner: initially friendly, but soon intrusive—knocking on our door, entering uninvited, sending messages, asking personal questions, even wanting to meet in town. We avoided common areas and left early despite having paid. Would not recommend

The whole place is dirty and the staff is completely inappropriate. In the evenings a lot of local men were invited over they made inappropriate moves on us women and the staff was involved as well. The location is far away from the Main Street and as a woman alone I felt really uncomfortable to go out after sunset. The vibe is completely weird and I was happy to leave after one night

SEXUAL HARASSERS. The owner tried to touch and harass me when I stepped out of my room for a moment at night because I had a terrible cough. There’s another review reporting the same thing. Absolutely do not come here.

The hostel is very nice and clean, with great common areas and beautiful rooms with private bathrooms. Lovely location. The manager is the most genuine and helpful staff member I have ever met – he takes care of anything you ask for. Highly recommended! Overall, for the price, as a group of four, it’s better than any apartment you can get in the area.🤙🤙🤙

Die Unterkunft sieht zwar schön aus aber leider ist alles andere als Sauber. Unser Zimmer wurde erst nach Nachfrage „geputzt“. Wenn jemand auszieht wird lediglich das Bett neu gemacht alles andere wird ausser acht gelassen. Der Manager ist sehr bemüht kann jedoch nicht alles alleine Bewerkstelligen da müsste mehr Organisation vom Inhaber her. Einmal und nie wieder - schade

I can recommend saltwater Suef camp, we really felt comfortable sleeping there. Also the host was very freindly, when we needed sth. he was always there - he tried to keep in touch (for example eating togehter, many talks, what was mostly OK for us). We also got a discount because of a defect ac by reason of blackout in arugam bay. The hostel is bit outside of the center (15min walk), but we really enjoyed the rest of the tourist center. The atmosphere was really great at the hostel.

The rooms are really nice and the head manager is also super nice and really helpful with organizing stuff. But there is kind of a weird vibe, not social at all and the owner is hitting on almost every girl that is coming into the hostel. He also does the surf lessons but doesn’t seem to surf good himself actually.

Such a great hostel, the staff were friendly and welcoming! The host Abdul is great too, a good laugh and easy to get along with! Make sure you check out his bar surf cast too!

Host is so helpful and made us feel welcome and safe. Always available and organised whatever we needed. 🤝

My three girlfriends and me stayed here for three nights. Some of the workers were very friendly and helpful but we also experienced inappropriate touch through the co owner of the hostel and the tuk tuk driver (the hostel connected us with him) sexually assaulted all of us four girls in the end of our last ride with him. Arugam bay is a beautiful place with lots of beautiful and overly friendly people but I strongly advise to look for an other place to stay, especially if you are a woman.

Air Con didn’t work, Staff were up all night listening to loud music, (not with guests though) there was only one other guest we met, his air con also didn’t work. We were all booked to stay for several days but we all left to another Hostel which was much better. Only good thing is they did give us 50% off for the night we did stay which was nice. This Hostel has potential just fix your air con and don’t keep everyone up all night. Seems to have fake reviews.

The hostel is very nice, new and has a great backyard. The owners are very nice. Was there three nights, one of which we had a party so very social, otherwise not a lot of social activities going on. Was a little bit outside of the town but reachable by foot in 10 min so really good overall
