Lived there for a week. Central location with good restaurants nearby. Cheerful staff, always ready to help and make you feel at home. I had a cabin room which was really quiet without any traffic noise and all other guests were respectful. The downside was the main building is about a hundred years old, quite dilapidated but undergoing renovations, and the hostel is on the 4th floor while the elevator was functional 3 out of the 7 days I stayed. So I got some leg workout.
Very very spacious, chilled and peaceful exactly needed in the chaos of Cairo, hard to find entrance to building and then have to decide whether to walk up 8 flights of stairs or take a rickety elevator which we were scared to do however it works just fine. Inside was perfect, could just do with being a little more clear with how to find the hostel.
