Raging Elk Adventure Lodging

I got stuck between avalanches- road closures- I didn’t make it to Fernie. I asked if I could use that fare or them to reimburse me. They said I should’ve canceled 2 days prior. How would I cancel in advance if I was not planning on canceling. I was going to comeback with friends. Forget about that. Make yourself a favour- find 2-3 travellers and book yourself an airbnb - we did that, won’t have to deal with this bs, or possible bedbugs.

Great location, great vibes!

Such a great hostel, super clean for one in a ski town. Loved it, everyone working here is so nice. Stayed for 2 weeks during a course, wish I could stay longer it’s that good!

We stayed in the pod rooms during our time at the Raging Elk Hostel. Overall, the rooms and facilities were very clean. It got quite warm in the pods but each bed was provided with a fan which helped quite a bit! Great place to stay if you are in the Fernie area.

This is my second stay at the Raging Elk and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was comfortable, safe and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice and clean pods! Bar inside which was pretty busy during Thursday night karaoke. Big kitchen and great location. A little pricey for a hostel but best option in the area.

Noisy. Can hear other guests thru walls. bedrooms are above Kodiak lounge (bar), during regular evenings noise is tolerable, however during live events it is not. You will not be getting to sleep on Thursday, Friday or Saturday when they often hold live events. Look elsewhere if you want to get sleep, if you want to party all night maybe you’ll like it, not me. Also no way to contact hw after booking.

I wasn’t aware of the $50 deposit. No big deal, but I’m sure there are travelers that are broke AF that would like to know that detail before arriving. Maybe it was on the site, but it sure didn’t stand out.

Perfect stay, gets to interact with different people. Best thing they have pub as well. Plenty of parking.

Stayed in the family room with my friends. Very convenient space. Shower worked well and beds were fine. Needs better linen cleaning and more fans since the air flow isn’t super great. Overall, it was convenient, comfortable and spacious.

Some hostels offer coffee in the morning. That would be a nice added touch

Cool pods and nice location! Unfortunately the showers and restrooms are on the dirty/old side. Also the fire alarms in our room went out because of old batteries at 6am...they hadn't figured it out when I left about 2h after.

Staff were friendly and helpful! The bar was fun and lively! The family room was small and outdated with clean linens but had an unpleasant odor.

Overall good. Beds were great - spacious pod-style with good storage, lighting and charging. Noise: popular “kodiak lounge” has a heavy bass until ~12 am. Some nights worse than others. Facilities: bar guests use the same washrooms which is a bit uncomfortable/can get quite dirty. No communal soap/shampoo in showers. Only one large pot shared between a lot of people trying to cook. No communal spices/oil/coffee etc. I guess the hostel staff throw this out but is wasteful/non-sustainable

Great hostel! Very safe, amazing location, wonderful people! They had a cool games room and theatre room downstairs with a great kitchen but bring your own cups/plates etc. not much there for eating/cooking utensils. We had a family room so we didn’t use the shared bathrooms but the whole place was clean!

I really enjoyed myself, I honestly was not excepting much but my stay was great. I stayed in a room with four 'pods' and it was so comfortable. The facilities for these rooms always looked and smelt clean and you didn't hear much from your neighbours. I was in town for Thursday night karaoke also Fernie town has a Wednesday Social in the evening where I really enjoyed myself. With tons of trails around I was not bored. 👍
