Gotum Hostel 2

Cons: Bed was rock hard and I woke up in agony every single morning and barely slept. The room was supposedly cleaned yet absolutely filthy especially the floor. Pros: They were going to pick up my laundry for me when my trip was running late. The air conditioner worked well. Had a big cold fridge freezer

I have never left a negative review but as a backpacker travelling with my partner we both agreed we needed to leave a review to warn others to not stay here. The closest we could describe the room was to a prison cell to put it bluntly. No windows, hotter in the room than outside, 7-8+ stairs (handmade ladder like steps), stained bedding, awful smell, unclean. the stairs them self was a hazard and genuinely if the building was on fire you would have no way of getting out if you was on our floor

No atmosphere just rooms. No windows. Bad smell. Staff not kind or available to help.

It was perfectly located in the town of Phuket. The rooms were clean and roomy and the AC was a must for the heath outside. So everything was great except the mattresses. I have been traveling through SA Asia for the last month and I got used to hard mattresses but this bed spawned the crown. It felt like sleeping on the floor on a towel… But still would recommend if you can sleep on a hard bed.

I got a private room, air con worked great, lots of space, balcony overlooking the street. Bathroom was the kind with the shower right next to the toilet, which is not strange for the area. There was a cover over the drain marked "mosquitos" that I assumed kept mosquitos from coming in the drain? It did not prevent them, unfortunately. I spent the whole night killing them and wishing I had a net. The rest of my stay was good, I just wish I'd gotten sleep. Bring a net or good repellent.
