Mixed experience, but we'd stay again as it's far cheaper than any nearby options. Starting with the good: super comfy beds, everything spotlessly clean, and obviously the location can't be beat. The two hot tubs are also a wonderful treat, especially in winter. Now the not so good... Clearly understaffed, VERY limited kitchen that needs WAY more fridge, guest pantry, stove, & counter space (hard to even make spaghetti!), utterly devoid of hostel character (feels very, very corporate).
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here. If in the area again will definitely stay here. Staff very helpful and friendly.
This was my first stay at a hostel and it was amazing. It’s a beautiful building and scenery. Lots of people would go into town during the day to ski or hike. Everyone was extremely inviting and friendly. Other than sharing a room with others, it felt like staying at a house rental with new friends.
Love this place! Friendly staff and hotel goers. I always stay here when I go to Telluride. Most affordable stay in the area and great ammenties!
Besides the actual room I stayed in (small with bunk beds and sharing with strangers), it felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Very nice design and good atmosphere.
Overall, this hostel is nice. The beds don't have individual curtains for privacy or light, almost every other hostel I have lived in has curtains. Moreover, I specifically booked a 4-person room (for a party of 3), instead I got a 6-person room. The front desk.person offered no reason nor apologies. It's hard to share 1 bathroom between 6 people, the outside bathroom was closed for some reason.
Beautiful fun, clean place to stay. Would definitely stay here again.
The staff was friendly and we loved meeting the hostel dog Honey! However, we felt the Hostelworld description was misleading. The details say it’s located in Telluride, which it may be technically, but it’s a 20 minute drive outside of downtown. The a/c in our room was lacking as well and we were uncomfortable all night, which led to a poor night’s sleep. On top of that, the WiFi didn’t work in our room at all. We contacted the front desk regarding the Wi-Fi, but it was never fixed.
This place is great for the price. The staff is always nice and the chill atmosphere is great.
Best value place near Telleride. Still expensive but better than the village.
One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at! Beautiful common room, spacious bunk beds that are high enough to sit up straight in and two relaxing hot tubs. Made for a perfect ski vacation!
amazing stay and Wilson was the most gracious and engaging host.
The Bivvi was great. Wilson, the host was equally great. I needed to save money so I could afford to ski. This beautiful hostel made this happen. I’d stay there again.
We would definitely stay here again. The staff was super nice and the room was great.
Everything was great. The staff were so nice, the accommodations were grea. The hot tub was divine. The only areas of improvement: the coffee was always cold, which then forced everyone to microwave it making the kitchen busy. And the WiFi was terrible- a little heads up would have been helpful because I had some jobs to apply for and it was difficult to do in my room.
Budget accommodations in a expensive area. $50 is a bit much for a hostel bed but when in telluride it's the only option.
Best hostel I've been to so far. Suuuper friendly staff/owner. They openend the bar for us and then other guests joined and the vibe was just awesome. I felt like all types of persons could find their place in this hostel. Would definitely recommend!
Place was awesome. Staff was very nice. And loved the breakfast. Thank you for a great stay . I will definitely be back.
Great clean hostel that has everything you need. Unfortunately not a very social hostel. But might have been because it was pretty much empty when I visited. Since its name was Bivvi Telluride, I kind of expected it would be in Telluride. Was hoping to be able to walk to town and go out for food and a couple of beers. But it's like a 20 min drive there.
Great atmosphere. Great location. Great people. I doubt there is any better place to stay in the Telluride area!
