Anmut Hostel

Honestly, I’m not sure why this hostel has received so many positive reviews. The place is quite run-down and clearly in need of renovation. The most concerning issue was the very strong smell of mold throughout the building. Wi-Fi was only available for one hour in the common area, and the shower had very low pressure when using hot water. On the positive side, the garden is beautiful and offers a lovely view. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was also good. The owners are incredibly kind.

We had a really nice stay at Anmut hostel. The view is absolutely breathtaking and is definitely worth driving a bit longer from Lushoto! The staff was super nice and helpful with our plans. For 8.000 tsh you get a delicious dinner. I would recommend coming here :))

Awesome hostel a bit outside of Lushoto. Unfortunately it was pretty empty when I was there, but I guess it was also because of beginning of low season. The owners and their nephew are very kind & help you with anything. They can also cook delicious dinner for you or organize guided tours.

Great, calm place to stay with friendly staff and hiking tours if you want. Large breakfast with lots of fruit, also dinner was great! Unfortunately, I was alone in the hostel, but Emanuel and his family were super friendly to make me feel at home. Would stay again!

Sehr schönes Hostel mit tollem Ausblick auf die Berge

Das Personal war sehr nett und hilsbereit. Das zimmer war an sich auch sehr sauber, sie sind jedoch sehr spärlich eingerichtet (nur 1 Bett und 1 Couch in einem sehr großen zimmer). Außerdem haben wir Ameisen und eine nacktschnecke im zimmer. Das wlan hat leider auch kaum funktioniert. Das Frühstück war jedoch sehr lecker und nahrhaft! Ich würde das Hostel auf jeden Fall empfehlen für Leute; die nicht so viel zahlen wollen. Die Entfernung zu Stadt ist kein Problem, wenn man gerne Bodaboda ...

Leuk hostel in een mooie omgeving. De eigenaar organiseert ook hikes en andere toeristische activiteiten, erg leuk! Alleen wel wat last gehad van mieren

I can only recommand this hostel. Emmanuel and Grace are absolutely fantastics, close to their guests and so welcoming. They treated me like if I was a part of the family and really felt like home here. The dorms are super clean, the area felt very safe and they have a beautiful view on the montains. Thank you so much again!

Nice hostel in fantastic scenery with plenty of hiking options. Emmanuel and his family were brilliant hosts and made us feel at home, providing us with delicious meals each day. The hostel is also excellent value for those on a budget. Would highly recommend!

Emmanuel and his wife are amazing guests. You eat well, can talk a lot and feel home with them. The room was clean, confortable and extremely calm (we slept so well!). The location wasn't ideal for us, because we wanted to go by walk at Kisasa Waterfall and Irente Viewpoint in a short time, without taking a taxi. Thanks a lot !

Anmut hostel offers nice rooms with very comfortable beds, tasty big breakfast and kind staff who is willing to help you with any questions. With being a few km above Lushoto town the hostel has a great location for hiking. We stayed for longer than we planned. It was the best matress and overall experience for the value in Africa so far!

Amnut Hostel is absolutely amazing - the view, the rooms, the food, the staff are all perfect. A special thank you to Emmanuel for being the perfect guide and taking my friends and I on the most amazing day we could have imagined - he honestly couldn’t have done a better job!

Our stay at anmut hostel was one of the best hostel stays we have had in Tanzania! We came late in the afternoon and had a very tight schedule the next morning but with the help of emmanuel everything worked out! He helped us with the hike that we wanted trough the forest and to irente vieuwpoint and also called a lot of safari agencies in arusha to have a last minute daytrip to ngorogoro for the next day. This place is awesome such a great and great value

Emmanuel was very nice and helpful. The hostel was empty when I got there but he took me on a tour of all the attractions in Lushoto. He also helped me book the 3 day hike. The place is very quiet for a solo traveller though. I might recommend it more for a couple or a small group. Beds were very comfortable and I slept so well and the breakfast was also very satisfying!

Great place to stay when you are visiting Lushoto! The hostel is a bit out of town but in exchange you get an amazing view. The dorm rooms are spacious, everything is clean and Emmanuel and his family are super nice. Breakfast is also amazing - delicious and a lot of food. Gives you enough energy if you want to go on a hike in the area. Would definitely stay here again!

We couldn’t recommend this hostel more! We absolutely LOVED our stay here (we originally only booked one night but ended up staying for an extra few). The location is stunning - it’s a short drive from Lushoto town but well worth staying out of the centre - the views are stunning, it’s so peaceful and quiet, and you’re surrounded by nature.
