Hostel On The Hill - By Filikuri Beach

Jennifer (the host) you are such a lovely person! We enjoyed our stay so much thank you! The owner gifted us grapes from the garden, they have a beautiful garden and some sheep and animals. The view was so amazing and the terrace was cozy. We stayed 3 nights and could spontaneously stay a night longer without a problem.We had great breakfast (also vegan available) and coffee for very little money. The beds were okay, we even got towels. Every dorm has their own small kitchen, basic equipment.

It was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It has a wonderful view... I literally felt like I was visiting my grandmother who lives in the countryside. The hostel has a family atmosphere. Jenifer and her husband are a super friendly couple, and although her English is quite limited, I still felt connected. It was also a fun way to communicate. Beautiful location, a little hike uphill and 30 minute walk to the main center so not so good if you want to go to the beach, eat out, go out etc and go back and forth. But good place if you just want to relax and chill, except if you stay in one of the dorm rooms, there is a fridge that sounds like a generator, it was torture trying to sleep in that room. Think the other dorms where ok, but mine was hell. Also a nice little grandma is the main person at the place and do not speak English.

Wonderful stay on the top of a little hill overlooking Himare! Due to off-season we were pretty much alone here, but had a wonderful stay nonetheless! There’s free coffee every morning and if you’re lucky, you’ll be offered some olives from the garden :) The host (despite the language barrier) was incredibly lovely, showed us her garden, offered us some of her food on the last night and treated us like her own children! Small, very cute hostel with most amazing view! Only a short walk from an extremely beautiful bay. To get to the town (bus stop and restaurants) it does take a while… Jennifer, the hostess is very nice and cares for her guests. The hostel was really empty when we went, felt more like an airbnb stay.

Accueil froid avec une tentative de nous faire payer plus cher que prévu. Le ménage n'est pas fait régulièrement. Peu d'aménagement pour la capacité de personnes qui peuvent être accueillies. ( Une seule petite cuisine, un seul set de couvert, pas de vaisselle). L'emplacement est assez bien mais pas si facile d'accès. La vue du balcon reste jolie, ainsi que la maison vue de l'extérieur.

Not for the faint hearted, prepare for some tough love, amazing view, delicious cheap breakfast, free coffee, wonderful people to meet, it felt like an adventure, worth whatever money, it's a unique experience and I will definitely go back someday. Just be prepared for a different mentality, the host will shout at you for sitting in the wrong place but she would also shut the place down for your online job interview, I grew to be fond of her! Be careful with blocking any cars when parking!
