Sophies Guest Rooms

It’s a really nice guesthouse! Only the bed was not the best. Staff is really nice. They have a small private beach to swim at and watch sunset which is perfect.

It's a nice hotel, very centrally located but still quiet. Shared bathrooms are clean and rooms are okay with only the fans at night (can get very hot during the day though). There's a private small beach belonging to the hotel, free coffee and towels/snorkeling gear to rent. No real kitchen but microwave/kettle at reception and dishes/fridge in the room. Only downside was paying for refilling water bottles.

Excellent value At Sophie's. This small family run hostel is a welcoming respite on the west side of the island. Close to the split and walkable to several restaurants but the facility is quaint and quiet. Only 5 rooms with a lovely shared balcony and hammocks for each room. Great place with nice room and showers right beside the private beach and looking towards sunset. Unfortunately while we stayed in March 2026 there was building works going on out the back/right outside the window. The hammocks where great to chill

A decent place to stay of you don't wanna book a bigger hotel. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. We loved having a hammock in frobt of the room and a couple sunbeds in front of the property. The only negative thing is the owner of the property who seemed quite tense and passive aggressive. They charge you to refill your bottle but get annoyed if you ask to get it refilled lol

Sophie's was quite nice - our private room was spacious and included a sink and mini fridge. Shared bathrooms were clean. Hammocks and beach chairs were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful - note that office hours are limited as it is a small staff. The beach is just OK for swimming but that's true of most of the island except private beach clubs on the north island. Minor complaint is that you had to pay $1USD to refill water bottles - everywhere else I stayed had this for free.

Beautiful guest rooms right on the water in Caye Caulker & yards from the Split. Staff are super helpful and friendly, rooms are clean and not too hot. There was building work going on next door but it didn’t affect sleep hours so no issues. Great spot for couples or friends looking for a quieter more upmarket hostel experience.

What an absolutely perfect place to stay, everything was immaculate, the bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the beach area is perfect and is the best place to relax and watch the sun set. The owners and office manager were so kind, gave us some fantastic recommendations and made our stay even more special. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sophie’s. The location and staff are fabulous. And the beach area is great. We felt very safe and happy for the duration of our stay.

We loved our stay at Sophie’s guest house! Perfect location in the quieter north of the island but only a minutes walk to the main road. By far the best shared bathroom experience we’ve had - they were always clean and stocked. Mita was the best host we’ve had. Always happy to help and chat to us - made our stay very enjoyable. Lovely stay here in Caye Caulker! Would highly recommend. FYI there is construction going on directly behind the building which isn’t anything to do with Sophie’s. They start at 8am and finish around 6pm and they are drilling/ using loud tools which you can hear even with earplugs in the morning however the location, staff, cleanliness and quality of the room outweigh any cons of the noise. There is lots of construction on the island in general so might be hard to find somewhere without it...

Really nice stay here. Location literally couldn’t be better, you’re on the beach (and it’s a private one). It’s the side of the island where the sun sets too so it’s just incredible. Hosts were lovely and free coffee in the mornings was a nice touch. Bathrooms cleaned daily and they offer room cleaning too and towel changes at no extra charge. Really nice place to stay and would certainly stay here again on our return.
