Despite booking one room for two people, when we arrived the lady at the desk split us up into two separate rooms. We asked whether we could be put together, as we are two girls and she said this wasn’t possible as ‘another group’ was arriving the following day. The ‘other group’ never arrived and we were left separated for our duration there. The lady seemed a little happy about telling us this and had a smirk on her face when we asked if we could stay together. There are better place...
Super nice dorms and access to roof top with a kitchen. More of a hotel than a hostel.
Let’s break it down. The hostels location is great, 5 minute walk to the boat taxis. That’s pretty much it. Not a nice place to stay at, unfortunately hostel options for caye caulker are limited, so the people I’ve met here are on the same boat of having no where else to go. This hostel is more like too many bunk beds in a tiny hotel room. I found my sheets covered with spots of dried blood. I asked the hostel about it and she pretty much shrugged and said they’ll change it for me. Not v...
This place is within walking distance from the San Pedro water taxi. The island is small so everything is within walking distance. I like that it is away from the crowds. Bathrooms are located inside the rooms. Aircon can only be used at night. The staff open the windows during the day so mosquitos get inside the room. The beds make a lot of noise when you move at night. Towels are NOT included, so bring your own or rent one from them.
probably the worst hostel i have ever stayed in
Overall rating is designed not to go lower than 2. So it displays a better rating than it should. But I rented a bed in a dorm for a week in advance. The hostel was not nearly the quality of the one I stayed at in San Pedro (Sandbar) and cost over 50% more per night. You have to rent your towel. Lower cleanliness and quality standards. Air is only on from 6pm through 10:30 am so during the day it's unbearable indoors. Illegally charged me $75 for not returning the room key when I was still there
We stayed in the 12 bed dorm as a last resort as it was a busy weekend with not many options available. As other reviews have said, it's very much is a dorm room in a budget hotel. As somewhere that has a big focus on swimming etc there is no where to hang wet clothes or towels. My partners swimming shorts and my runners went missing and only when we asked staff were they returned. The dorm doors were left basically unlocked all weekend. Very squeaky beds. No staff after 8pm.
Tiene buena ubicación
Hotel, not a hostel. No common areas, kitchen or whatsoever. It’s bunkbeds in a hotel. I booked hete because nothing else was available. It is clean.
Decent enough hostel, was the last one left available so had no choice! But a few others we’d met were in the same predicament so meant it was at least a bit social (despite no real social areas). Biggest downside was the creaky beds - so noisy that any time anyone moved in the night you’d hear it. Not the end of the world though and generally had a fine time here!
Staff looked like they wanted to kill me every time I asked a question. They were less than impressed. Also the beds are SO SQUEEKY. No one got any sleep because every time someone turned around it would be so noisy
really comfortable stay !!! AC is great, good location and staff are helpful
Perfectly fine hostel - one of the last beds left on the Island Not really a hostel, it’s more of a dorm room in a hotel. Facilities could do with a refresh but it’s cleaned everyday, the room has AC at night and it’s located fairly centrally with a shop across the street for essentials (no kitchen in hostel though) Probably not worth the price for what it is but the island is expensive overall
The manager where incredibly rude and careless about his job. Have never experienced anything like it before on all my travels. Check in time was at 3pm but the room weren’t ready before 4:30pm and no apology was made. Then they gave us the “wrong” beds for the first night in the dorm, so the next day they made everyone switch around and do their own beds - for 20 dollars a night!! The value for money at this place is so bad. Wouldn’t recommend.
Best hostel on the island if you aren’t bothered about meeting people. You can always go to another hostel to meet people and then come back to your dorm with aircon, safes by every bed, curtains on the beds to relax. Only problem was the noise of some of the bottom bunks, they need to be replaced by wooden slats.
This was okay!! Caye Caulker was super booked up so this was the only available hostel. It was okay value but Belize is super expensive in general.
really great value hostel. amazing location. really comfy beds (very squeaky though!). hot showers.free water and coffee. no kitchen or laundry service.
Très correct pour passer 2-3 nuits. L’emplacement est idéal
My stay here was fine. I think it's a little expensive for what it is and the bathrooms were a little gross but the location was good and the beds were pretty clean and comfortable if a bit loud. There aren't a whole lot of hostels in Caye Caulker and from what other people told me I think this is nicer and cleaner than most of them!
I booked this hostel because everything else was booked out and wish I didn’t.. Reception was very unfriendly every time I talked to them, they will charge you a ridiculous amount for every little bit of service (3 USD per night for an extra „blanket“ that does nothing to warm you, you normally get these for free etc.) Zero atmosphere in the „hostel“ (it’s more a hotel with a dorm than a hostel). Positive: free drinking water, privacy curtains, location
