Lovely place and staff Walking distance to everything Clean and quiet, nowhere really to socialise comfortably. Difficult to sleep when lights come on in courtyard as people walk thru at night which was annoying Otherwise a great place to stay Quite expensive compared to other accomodation

I truly loved my stay in Niyana! It's a short 10min walk from the historic center of Oaxaca, situated on a calmer street. The room was spacious and clean and I loved their eco-conscious policy! The common kitchen and fridge have dedicated storage compartment for each room. When I was there, they organized yoga classes twice a week to start off your day which was great! Lovely hostel with peaceful atmosphere and authentic rooms/ common areas. Loved their sustainability commitments and initiatives. The hostel had everything you would need. They also offered yoga classes on their terrace. 🧘🏼‍♀️ The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Maravilloso oasis en el centro de Oaxaca. Un espacio tranquilo en el que descansar del bullicio de la ciudad. La voluntaria que nos atendió era súper agradable y buena onda. La habitación, aunque no muy grande, tenía todo lo necesario. Quizás como punto de mejora es tener una ventana abierta para dejar entrar el aire fresco! Respecto al baño seco, es muy fácil de utilizar y con ello contribuyes a sus esfuerzos para contaminar menos! Por último, muy ricas las bebidas artesanas disponibles...

La experiencia en el Niyana fue genial. El hotel es tranquilo y tiene unas instalaciones preciosas. Las habitaciones son tal cual se ven en las fotos, con camas cómodas y sábanas suaves. Todo está bien limpio y el personal es súper simpático, lo que crea muy buen ambiente. Muy recomendado!

We loved our stay at Niyana. So much so we stayed twice on our trip! Really friendly and helpful staff, super easy for the city and transport whilst also being very quiet, private, secure and charming. The whole place has a great eye for detail. They use compost toilets that we found very hygienic and we support their environmentally conscious efforts. Would highly recommend!

Very peaceful and characterful hostal. The eco points were interesting, though the toilet took a bit of getting used to. Comfortable room with hot shower and nicely furnished, with a good bed. Not much atmosphere as there didn't seem to be many guests when I was there. Helpful staff and good location. Good value for money

What a lovely hostel. I spent 2 nights to relax here following the madness of Day Of The Dead celebrations and it was perfect. The staff were so friendly, the kitchen was clean and the whole place was very tranquil. Perfect for some reading and recoup and in a great part of the city.

We had a peaceful week here. Location is 15 minute walk from major activities. Loved eco aspects, good learning experience. Staff helpful and relaxed. Our room did get warm at night so we used fan and left door partially open. Slept well in big King bed. Enjoyed roof top to exercise in mornings. Would stay again.

Amazing stay!! The crew was so sweet and they helped us with all the things we needed. The location is also perfect, just walk distance from everything. The hostel was very clean and pretty. They are very aware of nature and stimulate nature by separating waste and they have a biological toilet and more. It was the best stay we could wish in Oaxaca. 🙏🏻

I would've loved to give a positive review. The eco-friendly hotel is beautiful, in a great location. But... we went 1 day and 1 night without electricity. 1 block away, hotels still had power. Given the total power outage and how I had to cancel multiple work calls, I asked for a partial 1-night reimbursement. Niyana refused. One employee even WhatsApp'ed me a copy of "Nonviolent Communication." They then begrudgingly agreed to an 8% reimbursement for 1 night — yes, eight percent, worth 90 p...

Really enjoyed my stay at Niyana, it's a little oasis in Oaxaca. The staff are super friendly and always ready to provide tips and recommendations. The private single room was a little on the small side but it's nicely designed, as are the communal areas.

We had a wonderful stay at Niyana! One of the most beautiful hostels I’ve stayed at with artistic and meaningful decor and very comfortable, clean rooms. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Welcoming vibe with lots of space to socialize. We loved the sustainability factor; most (if not all) of the building elements are natural or recycled, and we appreciated the careful separation and reusing of waste. Very low-effort rules in place to contribute to preserving the environment of Oaxaca ...

Niyana was lovely. The welcome by the staff made us really comfortable straight away, location was also close enough to the bus station and town area. It was very quiet in the hostel so if you’re looking for a party it might not be the best place for you. We loved the eco feel with the recycling but it would have been nice to have a bin in the bedroom/bathroom. Overall, a wonderful stay and would recommend

Loved staying at Niyana! My boyfriend and I had a double room and it was perfect — clean, spacious, and with really thoughtful details (from the sink to the amazing Indigenous art). The location is close to downtown and Jalatlaco with plenty of great stuff blocks away. Staff were great (Michele ever woke up at 4:45 am to help us when our airport taxi didn’t show). The fact that it’s doing something different and showcasing all that’s possible with sustainability is the icing on top.
