I loved the room I was staying in (4 pax. female dorm) as it was super big and spacious. There are curtains, small lights, outlets and locker right next to your bed. The community kitchen tho wasn’t clean at all. I decided not to cook there as the used dishes were dirty in the sink. The countertops weren’t clean either. I know that it’s up to the people staying at the hostel but as a lot of people stayed longterm they just behaved like it’s there kitchen.
Very close to the bus/ train stops and the beach. Social areas were nice and comfortable. Not very sociable and some of the bathrooms were really old and needed a good clean. the new bathroom was better but the showers were freezing. The bunks were covered in dust on top and the wooden side of the pod kept moving (not secured properly). Also the plug socket next to my bed didn’t work and constantly made a ticking noise. The staff did help straight away when the light by my bed didn’t work th...
Very unsafe: locker fixed ~40 cm from the bed and broken, so I couldn’t lock it. I hit my knee and head several times during the night. No washing machine. Showers/toilets are at the other end of the corridor with stairs, very inconvenient, especially at night. Women’s bathrooms were dirty (hair, makeup, clogged toilets, no soap) and hot water was inconsistent. Overall not comfortable and no real atmosphere, not a social hostel.
Love the Hostel, very clean and nice Staff, especially Malte was very Helpful and makes the best beds in the Hostel
It was a bit unsocial until the night, we really liked the events the hostel holds each night some nice pubs nearby and beaches aren’t too far. Felt like living in a uni house a bit, did find some bugs in our beds and some of the curtains were falling down in our room but we got used to it so it was fine in the end. Staff were lovely, bathrooms were okay for the girls, unisex toilets were pretty grim
Nice hostel in a good location. Close to the beach, has good common areas and a rooftop bar. Beds are comfortable. Got checked in by Malte, he’s a nice and friendly guy!
It was okay.. the bed was comfortable but the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Super wet walls and ceiling. Floors very dirty. The room smelled like feet. Location was in a great spot. Some staff were super friendly and some were quite rude. I wouldn’t stay here again lol
Really lovely spacious hostel, feels like living in a villa with friends. I wouldn’t go to St. Kilda for the beach it’s not that great, go to Sandringham, really nice one not to far away.
The stay was awesome and Kian helped me a lot at the reception :)
Great hostel for a backpacker! The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable with privacy curtains. The staff are also very friendly, and the social rooftop is a really nice spot to meet others.
I had a really great stay here and would definitely recommend it to other traveler's. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, which made it easy to meet people and feel comfortable right away. The staff were super friendly and helpful whenever I had questions or needed recommendations around the area. Also great deals at the backroom bar with barman Harry for boozy evenings rofl:)

Great hostel with super friendly staff and a beautiful building. Kian kindly gave us a free upgrade to a smaller dorm room, which we really appreciated. During our stay, my boyfriend broke his collarbone, so we switched to a private room. I contacted them in the middle of the night to ask if we could move a day earlier – no problem at all. They even gave us that extra night for free. Perfect location with tram and supermarket nearby. Also recommend the café and Indian restaurant next door.
The best about this hostel is the location! Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. Also not too far from CBD. There is a bus a few blocks away which takes you to the airport. I just spent 2 nights there, bed linen were fresh and bed was comfortable. Don’t know why but in the women’s showers, water was ice cold. I hope they fix that!
Really good hostel, good place to stay while you figure things out if you’re stay staying long but also really good if you’re just staying for a while. Harry is a sick dude, funny and nice.
Super comfy beds and clean dorm rooms. Location couldn’t be better!
Loved my stay at this hostel and the staff a lot, especially Kian who did a very good job at reception. The vibes are very chill and relaxed and it feels a bit like home. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
Ich kann das Roamer St Kilda absolut weiterempfehlen!! Die Lage war perfekt, man ist nur 10 Minuten zum Strand gelaufen und konnte die schönsten Sonnenuntergänge sich anschauen. Die Mitarbeiter konnten einem direkt weiterhelfen bei Fragen. Kilian an der Rezeption war super nett ! Und die Frozen Margaritas auf der Rooftop Bar kann ich nur empfehlen!
Lovely place! Nice privacy with curtains etc. Had a nice chilled vibe. Not very social but otherwise it was great. Comfy beds and clean showers. Kitchen could be bigger and have more lights and ventilation.
Fab stay, Brandon on night shift is extremely welcoming!
