Summer House Melbourne

Really nice place, not too social but good location however there is a big BEDBUG problem which would need to be addressed properly.

Dirty place with poor staff behaviour. If you are brittish or irish come here, you can get away with everything, drinking and making partys in the room while people sleep, being as dirty as you can, not do your dishes etc. If your skin is not very clear I don't recommend this place, they will systematically make your life harder. Plus, they always run out of coffee and tea, the kitchen is small awkward and dirty. there is an ample rooftop which had bag beans so dirty they had to throw them away.

Had to switch rooms bc they’re letting a girl stay there that was a literal tweaker and was throwing around loose threats and implying I’m carrying a gun bc I’m American. After I switched to my new room they informed me they had bed bugs in there and that I needed to switch rooms again. Didn’t feel comfy staying there at that point so asked for a refund for the rest of my stay and they said no, all they could do was pay for my laundry. Summer house is a sociable, well kept hostel with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. It’s in a good location with lots of links to other places in Melbourne and has a great bar downstairs.

I had a wonderful stay at summer house Melbourne! It’s in a fantastic location, walking distance from the tram and beach. Staff are so lovely and welcoming! Absolutely recommend staying here when in Melbourne

Dormitory with an ensuite bathroom, a small balcony, power outlets by each bed, and a very comfortable mattress. The top floor features a terrace with a view and a really relaxing space, perfect for studying, working, or enjoy day off or moment after work. The pub on the first floor is ideal for enjoying a jug of beer at a price you won’t find anywhere else in Melbourne, and for playing a game of pool or board games. The sea at 500 m.

Staff are so friendly, the hostel is very clean and the location is perfect!! Deffo recommend

Private room was huge which was great with a nice bathroom. Pub downstairs which is ok, and you get 20% off. Kitchen was way too small for how many people were staying there, made it impossible to cook at normal times. Staff were pretty miserable which was a mood killer. General atmosphere round the hostel was pretty low, nobody seemed particularly happy. Weird policy of $20 key card deposits, and you have to get one per guest, you can’t share a key card.

A hostel with a pleasant atmosphere thanks to the pub. Reception staff is friendly and helpful, but cleaning staff is sloppy and disrespectful of guests' belongings. Their cleaning routine is questionable. The rooms lack a light and a shelf next to the beds. It's absurd that it's forbidden to leave personal items in the bathroom, given the lack of shelves and cabinets to store them. Common room is pleasant, but there are only 3 tables, which are insufficient for guests who would like to sit.

Well designed motel.

Prix correct, équipe polie. Alcool interdit (mentionné dans le règlement), mais comme c’est notre lieu de vie pour la semaine nous n’avons pas le choix que de le stocker dans nos sacs au frigo, sans le consommer sur place. Résultat : 5 bouteilles retirées/volées et, malgré notre signalement à la réception, aucune solution proposée. Peu d’espaces communs (salle TV isolée), rooftop fermé à 21h30, pas d’autre lieu de vie, salle de bain partagée à 8 sans wc communs, clef souve...

me encantó!!!! excelente ubicación, caminando a la playa y solo a un tram del cbd. Limpiaban el cuarto todos los dias y el baño adentro de la pieza es lejos lo mejor. La cocina podría ser más grande pero tienes arriba un rooftop donde puedes comer. Recomendadísimo!!

I’ve had a great experience staying at Summer House. The atmosphere is really social and friendly, and it’s a great place to meet people from all over the world. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and the location is perfect near the beach. Would definitely recommend staying here in Melbourne!

Good place, great staff

This hostel is good for a short stay. Bunks and rooms were just a basic. Bunks have no curtains, no shelf to put your things and no reading light by your bed. It’s inconvenient if you’re on a top bunk. The lighting in the room was 1 florescent light & where my bed was positioned in my room, I got very little light.

Love this place! Really friendly staff, especially at bar and reception. Has an amazing rooftop and chill spot with lots of space. Well worth the money, couldn’t recommend more!
