Ther's everything you are looking tò for and hostel. Just Remember that you are in Madagascar and for something you've got tò be flexinle
Nice staff, downtown location. Electrical outlets by the beds didnt work in my room, had to charge my phone in the lobby. The resturant is open to the public, so you might see outsiders near the residence area, but it feels safe generally with the cameras in the hall.
Everyone working at this hostel was so friendly! They also play music 🎶 next to the restaurant downstairs. It had a nice bohemian vibe with a lot of colours, and it was quiet in the rooms upstairs. Very nice balcony and rooftop and PERFECT central location. The food was also delicious :)
Dreadful hostel. Cheap but not particularly so. Hot water and Wi-Fi didn't work properly (credit to the girl trying to fix the hot water by doing something clever with the water supply to the urinals, but they should invest in a plumber rather than her). Kitchen closed without notice around 8 pm. Breakfast inedible. Hard to find with no obvious sign outside. Nothing to stop anyone walking in off the street. Rooftop bar closed. Refused to give my guide the Wi-Fi password.
Empty apart from some local teenagers coming to hang around without living there. No Wifi, no power sockets near most of the beds in the dorms, and couldn't lock the door to the terrace resulting in tons of mosquitos at night Pretty cool place with lots of potential, but too many basics lacking. Kitchen closes at 7 PM, so hard to get dinner forcing you to go out in a sketchy unlit part of town to eat.
Wirklich sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Sprechen gut Englisch. Sehr gechillte Atmosphäre. Für mich ein wenig zu viel Party, da der Frauenschlafsaal gleich nebenan zur live Band war.
ok hostel to stay in for 1 to 3 nights, but no longer. common room, food and staff is very good. security and hygiene, not at all. no lockers for big stuff, bathroom is a diseaster. sewer water and ants evereverywhere. I would come back only if there is nothimg else. it is all Madagascar standards. idk if you will find better for the same price
Watercloser is broken, humidity on the walls, dirty walls and fungus on the bathroom, foam instead of matress, the window does not lock, WiFi does not work on the room, stay at private room
Good example of a hostel with excellent staff, great food, but crumbling infrastructure, broken toilets, sporadic showers (but hot water).
Good location and friendly staff. There was no security in the door and the dorm room was very close to the entrance of the hostel.
Nice hostel but did not feel safe. the bathroom door didn’t close properly or have a lock. the door into the room didnt lock either. lockers were small and there were only 2 available. luckily no one else had booked into room other wise I wouldnt be abke to lock away anything. my larger rucksack (60L) was unablunable to be locked away because of this so was unable to venture far from hostel as was worried about my bag being stolen.
Very slow WiFi and kitchen they use to cook restaurant food and can be used by guests is very dirty. Why large uncomfortable pillows? Hot water a plus. Music goes in too long in the night.
Trop chère pour un dortoir à comparer de ce qu’ on peut trouver ici ! Et certains membres du personnel au service est très froid et manque de respect…
Such a brilliant spot to stay! Staff and rooms are incredible- such a great find.
This place is great for the value. It is centrally located, with restaurants, ATM machines nearby, with the Queen's Palace a short 30 minute walk away. There is hot water, but it results in just a trickle coming out of the shower, with intermittent pauses in the water. Also, not anything they can control, but Madagascar experiences power and water outages often, so be prepared.
The only hostel in Tana, they do a good job, clean, showers hot (although you have to wait), good restaurant with tasty food. Only negative is that the pillows are too large - the biggest pillows in the world. Lots of mosquitos but the hostel can't help that. Wifi didn't work well.
safe place in a quiet area. good food and drinks too
Staff is really friendly and can speak English which is not always the case around Tana. Common area is nice and some locals also hang around the bar and restaurant which is a good sign. Cleanliness of the room was ok, we had a socket in our room that was making questionable noises and there was some red residue on the floor that stained our socks. Bathroom could be cleaner and more soap provided. however, access from our room to the balcony was nice
