Staff were great, extremely friendly and helpful. Seen comments about the room being small, which in fairness think it’s fairly advertised as the rooms were actually more spacious than expected. Rooms felt clean and hotel was situated in a great location. The option for the $25 breakfast was amazing too with the buffet, great selection and amazing value for money. Would highly recommend.

Great location in central Christchurch, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms small but everything you need. The burger special was great ($18 for a burger and beer) with the best burger in NZ.

This was perfect for what I was after. The room was small but super nice. All I needed. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel, no kitchen or communal space.

Hotel not hostel. Room is quite small with no window. The bathroom was a glazed sliding door with not a lot of privacy. Clean and centrally located. The hotel serves breakfast but it's not included in the booking. It's okay for 2 people.

Hotel not a hostel. Room was very small for two people and bathroom was a glass sliding door so not a lot privacy. Room was not cleaned properly, mug was dirty and found other people’s belongings in there. It says parking available but you have to pay $19 a night

I booked one of the internal rooms (no window), which was a reasonable price, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and as a woman travelling alone I found that the lobby was a very comfortable space for a drink or a meal. Breakfast was exceptional.

Ottima posizione nel centro città e vicino la stazione dei bus. Camera piccola ma ben organizzata con spazio per le valige sotto il letto e molti appendini per i vestiti. Tutto molto funzionale. Manca un distributore di acqua per riempire le borracce.

We missed a window in our room

I stayed here alone for going to Lake Tekapo. The hotel is only 3~4 minutes from the bus station. The location is perfect. The single room is narrow, but enough for me. There is a kettle, and there are 4 or 5 packages of tea and coffee, so I enjoyed drinking them. There is no problem for shower and toilet. The price was quite low, so I'm fully satisfied.

Prima hotel maar miniscule kamer zonder ramen, zeker met 2 personen heb je echt amper bewegingsruimte. Goed voor max 1 à 2 nachten. Ligging is wel top in het centrum!

Room is so small and bed is so high.

Everyone was helpful and friendly and the room excellent. Breakfree is in a great location in the heart of Christchurch. It suited my needs perfectly. -Marjorie Anne Bowie.

The room was tiny and unsuitable for a taller person (anyone taller than 1.8m). A short bed is squeezed in between 3 walls. With additional paneling on the walls it was impossible to lay down properly and sleep. The reception said the hostel was fully booked. We couldn't sleep the whole night. We requested a refund for this stay. Also worth notting was the fact the description omitted the fact that there was no window in the room, in fact most rooms in this hostel has no windows or a tiny one...

Es ist ein Hotel und kein Hostel. Keine Ahnung warum es auf Hostelworld steht. Keine Küche. Viele Zimmer haben kein Fenster, aber es geht.

Good place to stay, although our room didn’t have a window but for the price it was good
