Blue Coconut Hostel & Homestay

I enjoyed my stay here! It is a little further away, especially if you’re walking, but it’s a nice change of pace from the central hostel areas. I only stayed one night but the host was super friendly and checked in on me. One of the hostel volunteers also gave me a free ride to the ferry in the morning which was really helpful! Definitely worth it for the price!

Love this hostel, it’s a different vibe from other hostel with more chill place. The staff are super cool and chill.

gutes etwas abgelegenenes Hostel. Ohne Roller schwierig. Es gibt nur einen Raum. Mein Bett/ Matratze war ziemlich unbequem.

The hostel is well located and the staff are friendly, but it's way too expensive for what it is! It's just one room with 12 beds; everything else is outside! We stayed four nights, and there wasn't a single day when there was hot water in the shower! It's fairly clean, but the room is quite small for 12 beds, and we had the only beds without power outlets or lights, so frankly, it wasn't very practical. It's okay, but really overpriced for what it is!

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly, but, I think it is too expensive for what you get. Beds at the top are very warm since there's only one AC. Towels don't dry & absorb water. No lockers to put your stuff. Bathrooms have no ventilation and are always wet

The hosts are really welcoming and nice, and the atmosphere is really relaxing and cozy. people in general were really easy to talk to and the location is really ideal: far away enough from the chaos to relax, but close enough to reach everything just by walking, and the hosts would also accompany/take you to the pier if needed. beds were comfortable and a overall the facilities were okay, the bathrooms/showers lacked hot water but in this tropical climate it wasn't an issue. Would stay again!

I had an amazing stay at Blue Coconut, thanks to the wonderful team & atmosphere they created. It is very simple, but it feels like a livingroom where you can just be yourself. Jonas, Otto and Kai are super friendly & open people and made me feel welcome immediately. Only minus: it can be really loud at night because you can hear everything that goes on in the community space & bathroom. To get to the bathroom, you have to cross the dormitory. If that gets fixed there's not much to complain :)

Blue coconut is a hostel like no other, the owners have cultivated an atmosphere which is kind and warming, you feel like part of the family - they have a bar and lounge area setup which you’re welcome to use and feels like your own living room, the owners are such lovely people who will help you any chance they can and the hostel dog and cat are so cute!! Best to get a moped due to the location but otherwise, I loved my stay here and I will be back !! Blue coconut crew forever xx

I booked it because of the good comments, but as someone said, this felt like a joke. One of the worst place I stayed at, the beds are awfully uncomfortable, had to change a couple of time before finding one that was ok. No hot water or pressure, only one toilet was working. We told the staff the problem but no one did anything even through they didn’t look very busy. The noise was terrible with everyone slamming doors to go to the bathroom and the loud music. I usually don’t put such low grades, but my experience in this hostel is really bad. I had to try 3 different beds to find a proper one on my last night (not hurting from the slats or not wobbly), there were no hot water in the shower and it was dirty, to access the only toilets of the place you need to pass through the dorm so it’s impossible to rest everyone is just going around, slamming doors, speaking loud. All of this for 25€ per night it feels like a joke honestly.

J’ai réservé cet hostel après avoir lu les avis positifs sur Hostelworld mais la réalité est bien différente… Pendant mon séjour, nous n’avions pas d’eau chaude et le verrou d’une des deux cabines de douche ne fonctionnait pas. Donc nous avions 1 douche et 1 toilette pour toute l’auberge. Les lits ne sont pas confortables et ceux du dessus n’ont pas de rideau. Je sais que l’auberge est récente et que les propriétaires souhaitent l’améliorer mais pour l’instant le r�...

Pretty terrible...Beds were very wobbly, mattress slipped through the slats as well! Cold shower, no curtains on top bunk, loud music from social area immediately next to dorm. Very expensive for the experience!

Location a bit far from the city center. Only 1 room with 18 beds and 2 showers (with toilets in the same room). But the staff was really helpful.

Genuinely lovely people run this place! Very helpful and friendly, and it’s easy to get chatting to the people staying there too. The dogs and cats hanging around are very friendly. Location is pretty ideal, just far enough out of the way of the chaos but a v short walk to get to the action. The security lockers aren’t the best but the general atmosphere of the hostel meant I wasn’t worried. Would stay again!
