Amazing!I was planning on staying here for 2 days. I ended up staying a whole week. Aaron the manager became a friend, helpful and funny and always trying to provide a good experience for everyone. All the staff are friendly and kind including the guys at the restaurant, the hostel is extremely social, it's impossible not to meet people here. It's not a party hostel by any means but it's also not a dead quiet hostel, it's just right! Felt like leaving family when I finally did leave.
15 mins from Munnar town centre, the property has a small workout area and nice chill out spots conducive to socialising. Great Mango lassi’s and reasonably riced food. Deffo check out the hidden waterfall if you go here, worth the hike :)
Nice location, its got a good view! But the staff are not really helpful, and me and a view others got sick from the watertank downstairs (the one in the restaurant seems to be good). The staff play super loud music at 8am and at around 9pm. The music is heard throughout the whole hostel, so sleeping is difficult sometimes. The food in the restaurant is nice. I did find it quite social :) i would recommend this hostel but maybe not for a full week
Really nice social areas on the rooftop. The location is great and beautiful. Easy to catch a local bus to Munnar. The staff is friendly, but not very helpful nor informative when you ask something. Laundry is very expensive, be warned!
Great vibe for solo traveller. Wi-Fi dodgy and staff not always around when you need them unfortunately. Cafe on-site was fairly nice.
The staff would blast music at 8am every morning and wake all the dorms up and refuse to turn it down even when asked. Also got food poisoning from the restaurant there. Apart from that loved the travellers we met but I was disappointed in the hostel itself
Dirty and hard to access and leave
Beautiful hostel, good food, terribly unprofessional front staff.
It’s in the middle of nowhere but somehow still very social. The restaurant has really good prices but limited options and there’s nowhere else around to eat
One of the best common areas for a hostel I’ve ever been in. Nice to be located out of town and in the greenery. Hidden waterfalls are a huge bonus.
Ich hatte ne gute Zeit im Monkey Tribe! Perfekt wenn man viele nette Menschen kennenlernen will :)
10/10 hostel in every way. I highly recommend if you are either traveling solo and want a place to rest and relax or to socialize and meet cool people.
The hostel has so much potential, building is nice, location is good, food and kitchen staff are good. The rest of the staff weren’t helpful at all, no one knows what’s going on. Great social area but nothing happening. Needs at least 5 extra members of staff.
Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The view is unbelievable, the staff were very friendly and helpful. A big mix of backpackers, travellers, and hikers and people who are looking to do daytime activities with others.
Lovely and clean hostel in Munnar with beautiful views. It’s a few km outside of the main town and down a valley - but you’re not missing much by being out of the town centre - most of the tourist accommodation is a similar distance away. Very helpful staff and a good restaurant. Private room was very spacious
Every thing was good. The kitchen had the best food in Munnar. But my only complaint is a major one… Munnar markets itself as a city striving to be different. The entire reason people visit Munnar is for ecotourism. There’s clean air and very little garbage… but the Monkey Tribe Staff burns plastic garbage on the roof every afternoon. This was dangerous for the staff and the guests, and it’s not in line with the aim of Munnar to be a clean city.
Perfect place lost in the munar mountain ! Not easy to access but worth it. Bad point is in the luxury suite there was no hot shower, toilets broken, and water was dirty.
Overall very good hostel with good facilities and a great common room on the top floor. Location is very good, i dont think youll find anything closer to the city and the view is gold. Clean and up to date. The hostel restaurant was a bit pricy and generally had more of a business feel to it rather than your cosy friendly hostel.
Amazing view secluded in the middle of the hills and tea plantations. The vibe of the hostel was also very nice. We ate almost all the time at the restaurant as it is convenient and food is really good. Just be aware that the climb to leave the hostel is not the easiest but that comes with having such a nice view
the toilet seat was broken off the dorm room, asked 3 times to fix it but they weren't able to. The common area's plug point was not working and the games were not in the best condition. The food was good but the service was very slow, the folks were overworked and under staffed. overall it was not something I'd say was great.
