La Tángara Hostal Rural

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The location is stunning, featuring a beautiful garden and incredible views. I spent hours just relaxing in the hammock, birdwatching—seeing the hummingbirds was a real highlight. The family running the place are wonderful hosts, and their dogs are so friendly! Also, the river and waterfall just a few minutes away are absolutely magical. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at La Tangara. The hosts were lovely and there were lots of amazing birds in the garden. The pets, especially Amber the dog, stole the show too. thanks again!

Absolutely loved my stay at La Tángara. The property is stunningly beautiful and the perfect place to hang out in and take it easy. Natalia is a wonderful host and really makes an effort to make your stay and experience as pleasant as possible!

This place really is amazing :) the location is beautiful and the family that runs this place is really nice. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a calm and beautiful place to stay.

We loved our stay and wished we could stay longer. The relaxed atmosphere, stunning location, and constant birdlife were highlights. Nathalia was always helpful. The uphill walk from town made tuk-tuks preferable. The cabin was cute, albeit smaller than expected. Great nearby walks, friendly pets, a well-equipped kitchen, eco-focused, and lovely communal breakfasts made it special. A peaceful, scenic paradise we'd love to return to!

We had an incredible time staying at La Tangara. The hosts made us feel incredibly welcome, the cabin was incredible and the gardens are beautiful. It’s in an amazing location in Jardin, a bit quieter (c.30 minute walk into town), with incredible bird watching and a small river nearby where you can swim. The hosts were so accommodating, helping us organise a tour and giving us local recommendations. We couldn’t recommend staying here more.

Amazing property. Run by a really great couple. One of the best locations that I’ve ever stayed at. Very safe. Very clean. Great attention to detail. Fast communication. Bring some snacks with you because the closest store is a tuk tuk ride away or a decent walk. Super cool river just a few minutes walk. The best bird watching that I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been to quite a few places. There are so many birds at this property that it really exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

Natalia et son équipe sont des gens formidables, serviables, adaptables, avec un grand cœur. Natalia qui parle espagnol anglais et un peu français nous a bien conseillé sur les activités au alentours c'était super. Le cadre est magnifique et on se fait réveiller par les oiseaux tellement il y en a dans le jardin.

Highly recommend, a real gem! Marina & Jaime were incredible hosts, they went out their way to make us feel welcome. Felt like a home stay, just family and friends at the time, made it really magical. The location was perfect for us, up more in the hills, very peaceful, beautiful gardens where you can watch birds with a coffee. Would come back!

We loved our stay here. It’s in a gorgeous location surround by nature and lots of beautiful birds. The hosts are so kind and helpful, they provided great recommendations and gave us a lift into town with our bags when we were leaving. It’s also only a 30ish minute walk into the centre and there are waterfalls and great cafes nearby as well. The breakfast was delicious with fruit from the finca and coffee from a nearby finca.

Booked this hostel after reading all the positive reviews, and my expectations were still exceeded! La Tangara is an absolute gem! A bit of a trek outside of the town, but so worth it. Felt welcomed and taken care of from the moment I arrived. Felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Will think about this place forever.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in! The location is amazing and the surroundings are so beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing. I cannot recommend this enough. If you are going to Jardín, go here!

We could not recommend Hostel Tangara enough! Set in a farm and a plot of land that has beautiful flowers, a stunning river and mini waterfalls, groves of fruit trees, a small farm and is surrounded by lush green mountains - it is a natural paradise. But what really made it so special was the care, warmth and friendliness of Ophelia and Marina!! They really made us feel at home and were so kind to us during our stay. Compared to other hostels, this was a magical experience that we loved. Gracias

Great hostel, very very nice staff, very good breakfast. So a nice place!

One of the best hostels we stayed at during a long trip through Colombia. The location is STUNNING, and the hosts are amazing. This hostel serves the perfect balance between staying out in nature and being accessible to town. We’re backpackers without a car, and getting to and from the Hostel was never an issue. It’s a pleasant (and safe) 30 minute walk to town, a short tuktuk ride, or there is a public jeep option in the afternoons that is very cheap. Amazing bird watching too.

We had an amazing stay at La Tángara. The hostel is surrounded by beautiful scenery in the hills above the centre of Jardin and it was so nice to stay with Nathalia and her family and Ophelia. They were so kind to us and made us delicious breakfast every morning and helped us with anything we needed. Such an amazing place to experience the nature and quietness of Jardin and we didn’t want to leave! Thank you :)

Such a beautiful oasis - they have a river you can swim in, beautiful landscape for watching the birds, friendly dogs, incredible hospitality like home made breakfast everyday. It’s a little walk from town but it’s not far! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill vibe and a place to enjoy nature.

Loved my stay in La Tangara, it is a bit out of town but there’s a lot of TukTuk’s/Mototaxis that Nathalia provided me with the number of. They had hot showers which I appreciated and breakfast every morning🙌🏻 there weren’t many people when I stayed so was hard to socialise but that’s no fault to the property, just timing (:

We loved our stay La Tángara Hostel! The family were so friendly and we felt very much at home. The hostel is in a stunning location, with a beautiful river just minutes away. A perfect place to relax in nature whilst exploring wonderfun Jardin!
