It’s a budget-friendly hostel in a peaceful location. Quite decent for the price.
Kitchen was a dirty hob sink and fridge. Washing machine looked about a decade old and wasn’t working. There weren’t social activities at all (maybe because it’s not the peak tourist season) Most of the chairs are broken. The mattresses are THE HARDEST surface I’ve had to sleep on. No reception staff, just an online check in - so no recommendations or tips about the area at all. Easy enough to get a tuktuk into fort cochi, costing about 160 rupees.
I have no idea how this hostel got to its current rating. The location is quite nice if a bit far outside the city. The staff is one guy who can barely communicate in English and cannot answer any questions. I didn't use the kitchen, but it looked pretty horrible. The bathrooms were fine but not exactly clean either.
Really good stay. The owner is really, really nice. A place for travelers.
great hostel on a very nice location in the middle of the kerala backwaters. open vibes and good conversation. owner was very helpful and welcoming. thanks for a good stay!
if you're looking to stay at a calm and lovely place, please do go to louis'. It is quite outside the city but it stands out for the same reason. The rooms, bathro om and common area were very clean. Mufil Bhaiya was very friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed my stay here.
the hostel is super small, really dirty as they dont even bother changing the bedsheets, and the beds are crazy hard. the guy at the hostel does not speak english and is not helpful. avoid.
Had a memorable experience at the hostel. The host is super fun. Met a lot of cool fellow travelers. Being a sports lover myself, getting a turf on right on the waters was a new and soothing experience. Overall a seamless stay.
so this was my first solo backpacking , had an amazing experience in kochi and met amazing people from different countries and made memories with them :) in the hostel, would like to visit here more maybe in the future .
This listing is in dire need of an update. The description says they take card (they do not), that they have hot showers (they definitely do not) and that the property features the worlds only floating football pitch (which has fallen into disrepair and has clearly been abandoned for years). You are better off spending a little more to stay in the fort as you will lose whatever money you saved on Ubers getting to and from town.
I stayed at Louis Backpackers in Kochi as a solo female traveller. The hostel has a safe, warm and friendly atmosphere. It has a AC dorm and the washroom is super clean. The Wi-Fi is strong and reliable, making it perfect for a workation. The location is beautiful, right by the backwaters, which adds a calm and peaceful vibe to the stay. The owner Rishab is very helpful and welcoming and makes sure hostel feels like home. I would high recommend travellers to stay in this hostel.
Very nice and calm place! The Atmosphere was very friendly and open! It felt Like a Little Family
If you want to be in fort kochi, don’t stay here! If you’re looking for a relaxed, chill vibe - do stay here! What the hostel lacks in comforts (beds are a bit hard, need to order food for delivery, no soap/toilet paper) it makes up for with the pristine view and friendly staff. Rish is the man! Fun activities and very easy to meet fellow travelers. This is a place for travelers, not tourists!
100% recommend! This is the perfect place to stay if you want good vibes and to meet amazing people. The hostel owner Rishab is so friendly and welcoming, and offers great advice for everything to do in Kochi! Hostel itself is super clean, and has everything you would need. It’s located directly on the backwaters and offers an awesome view of the sunsets, it allows you to get away from the busy centre and is very relaxing. Overall 10/10 and would strongly recommend to anyone coming to Kochi!...
This is a friendly hostel with a nice social space and a very helpful manager. It’s a new hostel though and therefore quite basic - there is no towel rental and the kitchen is not somewhere you can cook. The beds were clean but the dorms could be cleaner. There are also no restaurants nearby so you have to use Swiggy for food
Really enjoyed my stay Super friendly hosts, clean rooms, and a great social vibe. Felt like home and met amazing people. Would definitely stay again
I had an amazing stay here. It’s a very social hostel: you’ll be able to hang out with other guests, have a game of badminton or cards. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, but still not too far from the Fort area. Thank you so much to the staff of the hostel for the friendliness, the funny evenings and the helpful tips, I’ll be definitely coming back :)
I had a really fun time at this hostel, it's really social and attracts friendly travellers. The host is also very friendly and accommodating. The hostel is a bit far from the touristy area which means you'll have to get ubers /tuk tuks to go most places which personally I didn't mind as it's so cheap. Also the location of the hostel is really nice and relaxing by the water. Only area for improvement I'd say is the bathrooms probably need to be cleaned a bit more frequently.
