This place is AWESOME, if you know what you’re getting into. It’s very shabby, not glamorous, very primitive. I went in rainy season and bugs were intense. The beach is beautiful. Host is super friendly and helpful. Cats and dogs on property were my favorite part. Expect a shabby and rugged stay and you will be very happy with the experience, cause it’s definitely an experience

I went here based on everyones great reviews but was disappointed to find that there is not kitchen and no provided potable water despite it being advertised there is. Also if you stay in the dorms you cant use the living room area so the only indoor space you can go is your bed

This place is a paradise! Located on the beach, with a perfect view of the local fauna (many birds) and surrounded by peace and nature. This place is also an animal shelter, taking care of dogs and cats, all adorable! The owners are very nice and helped me a lot with directions and to organize my trip further, talking with local drivers and arranged everything smooth. The place is also very clean and works in a sustainable way for what may concern water and energy, has a good wifi and confort.

A beautiful, peaceful place. We loved the dogs & cats, blue calm water, relaxing in the hammocks, and incredible sunset. Amazing host who helped us with anything we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer. To get there from Riohacha, we took a collectivo (a shared sedan) from Mercado Viejo for 12k each. With our very limited Spanish, we struggled to find the exact spot for the collectivo. The spot is roughly near these coordinates: 11.5458953, -72.9075329

Eigentlich super Unterkunft. Schön abgelegen und Jasmin ist sehr fürsorglic... Sanitäranlagen eher spartanisch aber hat alles geklappt. Elektrizität gibt es für ein paar Stunden tagsüber mit Solaranlage und sogar WiFi. Das Hostel ist aber gleichzeitig eine Auffangstation für Hunde und Katzen (~10 Hunde und ~4? Katzen)...Ich hab denen wohl zu viel Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt weswegen sie mich ständig verfolgt und an mir hochgesprungen sind...im Bikini wurd ich überall zerkratzt deswegen... ...

This hostel served my purpose well, which was just a place to crash for my 4 day kite surfing course.

Si buscas paz y tranquilidad en un entorno único, este es tu sitio.La acogida es estupenda. Los perros son muy simpáticos y te acompañarán en tus paseos. El mar está justo enfrente del albergue, así que podrás bañarte con toda tranquilidad y seguridad. Me gustó mucho este lugar ! :)

The place is beautiful and Jazmín is a wonderful person giving you tips before arrival to protect you from fraud and taking her time during your stay for nice chats. I spend some nights here and was really impressed about her dedication to the place, the traditional environment, her interesting stories about the life there and the local culture. It had some similar vibes to Cabo de la vela (infrastructure wise, how it is organized around electricity and water) without the necessity to go 2/3h...

Excelente la gestión medio ambiental, el trabajo con lo sostenible, el cuidando agua y exceso de energía, el trabajo con la energía solar son muy importantes. Además del cuidado de perritos y gatos callejeros. Es un lugar muy interesante para explorar Mayapo... Muy buena opción.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! First, all the dogs and cats that welcome you and maybe cuddle with you in your hammock was paradise for us! (So if you want to stay here make sure you’re comfortable with animals!). Toto and Jazmin were so hospitable and really made sure the guests enjoyed themselves! We had fires each night, had the beautiful private beach view and comfortable dorms! Also, the fish at the restaurant next door was amazing!! It’s a really good place ...

Gracias por todo Toto y Jazmín! A wonderful stay for which I had to return for an extra night after my Puntas Gallinas tour (they can help organise!) I arrived in Talata just for a place to stay for kitesurfing down the beach and I ended up meeting a lovely host couple who I will never forget:) The dormitory was clean and comfortable, the facilities are basic due to the location but that’s to be expected and doesn’t take anyway anything from the place. Very familiar hostel and perfect to get away from any stress. Theres also the possibility to kitesurf directly at the beach in front of the hostel or at the lagoons nearby👌🏽

The best hostel in my trip ! This go-to place of Guajira felt like an out of time paradise. The staff is so nice and shared really good moments with us and the dogs complete to give us the love we needed !! We initially planned to spend one night there and it ended in 4. Thank you so much Talata !!

The hostel is located directly on one of the best playas of South America, breathtaking! Super chilled atmosphere, lovely rescued dogs and cats. They use solar panels and recycle, thanks! If you're looking for a place to unwind, lazing around on a hammock, fire at night and good music, that's it! Went for a night, stayed longer :)

My dear travelers, this (Dog) paradise felt like An instant home. The atmosphere, friendliness, surroundings are magnífico! The dogs are so friendly and loving, each with their own personality❤️ The beer is always cold and Jasmin will make you a nice bite (we had delicious spicy yuca&yams😋). Last but ‘número uno’; I thought I was at the secret hideaway of DJ Click but the music of Toto (from Berlin to Marocco, India to Africa and back😆) made us dance all day 🙏🏾🙏🏾 ...

Quiero volverrrr! Las instalaciones son maravillosas y el personal muy atento . Es un paraíso 10/10
