Surf & Retreat Hostel Weligama(Coliving/Coworking)

I had a great 4 nights at this hostel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The beds were double size, which was amazing and the hostel was very clean.

I highly recommend this hostel to anyone in weligama. The staff are exceptional Tharushi on reception is so friendly and helpful and Rasidu & Radeesha were also super nice. The beds are HUGE and so much dorm space. Very sociable and loads of activities available at the hostel as well as surf classes that you can book with a discount from the hostel. Kitchen also available for personal cooking. Super fun, cool atmosphere.

A great hostel if youre looking for a comfier stay! The beds were huge and really didnt cost us much at all. The bathrooms were a little damp but thats honestly to be expected and it doesnt bother me but might others. The staff were super friendly too

Das Personal ist super lieb, nur leider gab es Probleme mit den Toiletten, bis auf eine waren alle Toiletten verstopft.

beds were really comfy and clean! but the bathrooms were dirty. staff were friendly, but there seemed to be some confusion with what beds to give people

Really Comfy beds however the Common areas tend to be messy so do the bathrooms (too few and too dirty in my opinion)

The big beds were very nice but I would've happily stayed in a normal/single sized bed in exchange for better cleaning. The bathrooms were not cleaned during my 3 night stay there which meant the toilet paper bins were not emptied. I was a little frustrated that the power was not working for my side of the room so I couldn't use the lamps or the plugs. Also we were told when we arrived that were no clean towels, next day we asked for one but when I used it, it wasn't clean and left me sandy.

Nice hostel, i little bit outside of the city. They build a skate park so looking forward

Great hostel, amazing beds and spacious communal area with a well equipped kitchen. The bathrooms aren’t the cleanest but overall a really nice hostel.

This hostel is beautifully located in a quiet and peaceful area. It’s very clean, social, and at the same time perfect for coworking. The atmosphere is amazing – relaxed but welcoming. The hosts are lovely and caring, and there is always someone around who is happy to help with anything. I truly felt comfortable and supported during my stay. Highly recommended!☀️

Loved this hostel! Stayed a week so I could use the cowork space. Friendly staff, great vibes and nice to have a kitchen. It’s about a ten minute walk from the beach or the bulk of restaurants which means it is very quiet at night. People seem to stay here a bit longer than other hostels so it was a great place to make some travel buddies.

Great place to stay! Very well located (quiet area but close to everything), super easy to meet people, and the perfect mix between social but chill vibe. The big beds with AC were a dream (bonus points for the female dorms being at a different level than the mixed ones, felt very safe), although the bathrooms weren’t the cleanest. Overall really recommend this hostel!

The best hostel ever!! Lots of surfing and so many fun events going on. Truly felt like a home away from home! Mahesh is the sweetest guy ever☺️

BEST HOSTAL EVER! The volunteers Agnes, Alva, Aidan and Emily were simply amazing ❤️ They were kind, professional and inspiring people! The beds were so comfortable and the AC made it perfect to sleep there! The best social hostel in the world, we did yoga together, had family breakfast, dinner, played games… if you go to weligama stay there!

Volunteers were so helpful and welcoming. Really chill vibes and great options to party if that’s your vibe. Be cool surf school was great. Clean hostel. Double beds are unreal

Loved this hostel and would definitely recommend it to solo female travellers! The whole upstairs is female dorms only with the mixed dorm downstairs. They host social events every night which you can choose to join or not. I also really appreciated Merel who volunteers there as she would always check in to see if I wanted to join the events and even went out of her way to drive me on her scooter so I wasn’t alone. Also shout out to Slowd the puppy! 🫶

This hostel is in a perfect location! The beds are really comfy and very big (AMAZING for a hostel it felt more like a luxury hotel bed). Everyone at the hostel is friendly but when I stayed it was quiet so the events got cancelled
