Looks new and well maintained, and the hosts are very helpful. All facilities are available to have a nice time by the beach.

Nice and clean hostel very close to Mirissa beach. The owners are lovely and very enthusiastic. Beds were comfortable and had curtains which was a lovely touch for privacy in the dorm rooms.

Really friendly hostel staff and very close to mirissa beach. The rooftop bar is open every evening with a happy hour and is a good social space. Good laundry facilities.

One of the worst hostel atmospheres I’ve ever experienced. There were no events or social plans at all, which made the place feel quite dull and lifeless. The room and bed were good, but that’s about it. As a solo traveler, I was really hoping for a more social vibe, but it just wasn’t there. If you’re traveling solo and looking to meet people or enjoy a proper hostel atmosphere, I’d recommend skipping this place.

This was the cleanest place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The owners were incredibly kind and gave us really helpful local and touristic tips. They have a weekly event calendar, and you can even take surf classes. The rooftop was a great spot to hang out. There’s no food, but the drinks and overall vibe were great. The room was clean, comfy, and had AC (honestly the best part). No bugs at all, and we felt very safe in the area

I stayed at Salty Sand Hostel and had a generally decent experience, with a few ups and downs. I arrived mid-morning and really appreciated being able to leave my bag before check-in — super convenient. The location is a big plus: it’s just off the busy high street, so you’re close to everything without the noise. It’s also right near Shady Lane Café, which was really handy. Super leuke hostel, niet ver van het strand en vele restaurantjes. De hostel zelf heeft een heel leuk interieur en een rooftop bar. De host doet dit super goed, maakte het echt een erg gezellig verblijf!

It was good, I felt the girl in the front desk wasn’t welcoming and but otherwise not a bad stay.

Wouldn’t stay here again.

One of my least favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed in, while the rooms were clean. The owner wasn’t friendly (the man) and he decided to have a go at me in the hostel for something that was completely irrelevent. There was no atmosphere considering there are reps the only thing they offered was a family dinner. For a hostel that’s quite new I wouldn’t recommend.

Hostel was clean buts were but other than that I wouldn’t recommend at all. The owner was rude to the guests and volunteers.

Great location, but that’s about it. The owner was rude and came across as quite full of himself. The “social vibe” was forced rather than genuine. Overall, wouldn’t stay here again.

One of the best hostels I‘ve stayed at during my trip. The owners are super nice and it’s a very social hostel. There are lots of organized events like family dinner, sunset walks, happy hour.. :) As a solo female traveler I really loved my stay here and met lots of amazing people.

Only stayed here for one night but dorms were basic - and beds had curtains. The lockers under the bed were very small so I could only just fit my backpack in and mine is small. Terrace is beautiful and the staff were very kind. Mixed reviews but worked well for my one night stay in Mirissa!
