La Guayana Hostel

This was my 3rd stay at La Guayana. I like it because it's an easy walk for me to/ from the lanchas (docks), restaurants, shops, etc but a little further from the traffic. Except for the construction happening island wide, it's quiet location. Always clean. The guests are similarly quiet & respectful. Belen and her family are very gentile and accommodating. I'll be back!! Soon! 👍🏽😊👍🏽

Wonderful and attentive hosts! You must try the sushi if you stay here. It is out of this world. The facilities were clean, towels were provided, and the kitchen is well stocked. The lounge area has a table as well as a lounge seating. It was handy to have a small market across the street. It is a quiet hostel that is a 3-5 minute walk to everyrhing in Bocas town.

Amazing place to stay and relax. It was not very busy, but still nice to be and the hostel owner helped me a lot. Really beautiful, but it is a bit more outside of the town. Furthermore a few more rooms are in the making and it is located at a busy street, so it can get a little bit loud sometimes. Would recommend nonetheless

Any advice? Run away from this hostel. The owner wanted to rip us off. She wasn't there throughout our stay, so it was impossible to ask a question. During the checkout, the lady wanted us to pay extra for the completely broken door handles. Her house isn't finished, it's all broken, and she wants you to pay for the damage. Then, the lady, not happy that we weren't paying, "threatened" to call the police. In addition to the cockroaches and bedbugs, and the house being completely dilapidated.

Lovely hostel! In a quiet area of Bocas, but still close to the shops, restaurants and activities. The bus for the beach passes right in front of the hostel. I payed to get my laundry cleaned and unfortunately, a couple of articles of clothing came back with permanent stains. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at La Guayana!

Overall I liked my stay here. However, there are a few things to note: - The property is located next to a main road so can be noisy during the daytime - I did not have any issues sleeping but this may be because my room was located towards the back of the property. - The property lists tea and coffee making facilities, however it does not have a kettle and there were no tea bags or sugar in sight when I arrived.

Such a lovely hostel! Very clean and homey. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms/ bathroom was always extremely clean. The kitchen was fully equipped as well. Some provided filtered water would’ve been nice and doesn’t have quite as much of a social atmosphere but would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Bocas!

This is my 2nd stay at La Guayana. I'm back because it feels like home. Belén shared that this home has been in her family since the 1800s. I like the price for the shared rooms. (I have stayed in both of the 4 bed dorms.) There are no bunk beds! No squeaking! :) The beds are SO comfy. And, everything is clean. Belén was very sweet and helpful, even let me check in earlier. My room was spacious and clean, nothing luxurious but overall good value for money. No breakfast but you can use the kitchen and there was always coffee to drink. Would recommend!

Really loved my time at this hostel. The owner and her family are very attentive and helpful. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Not too much of a social place. It’s next to a busy road so loud trucks are driving past in the day and night. Fridge in kitchen is mini so hard to find place for your food

In einem Zimmer war’s super laut in der Nacht durch die Straße. Ich durfte wechseln und das andere war dann viel besser. Die Mitarbeitenden sind super nett!

Una casa hermosa y un cuarto super cómodo y limpio. Gracias Belén y a tu familia por la amabilidad, fue un placer pasar unos días con vosotros !

I liked this hostel very much. The atmosphere is very chill and its not too many people around. The shared spaces were always clean. There are nice restaurants in the area.

Ein wirklich bezauberndes Hostel mit ganz viel Family Vibes. Das Vierbettzimmer war sauber, es bot genug Platz auch wenn alle Betten belegt sind, das Bad ist sauber und gut ausgestattet. Es gab frische Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Die Inhaber sind sehr nett und haben immer geholfen. Die Küche könnte etwas mehr Besteck und Töpfe vertragen aber ansonsten war alles wirklich 1a! Die Lage ist auch super, nah für alles aber kein Partytrubel. Habe es sehr genossen dort zu wohnen.

wonderful family business! we stayed in La Guayana for 3 nights and extended our stay with 2 nights. The hostel was perfectly clean, we stayed in a private room which was spacious and had airconditioning. Belen made a lovely breakfast for us each morning and she was easy to contact via whatsapp or by just walking downstairs. There is a kitchen with basic supplies. The family are really friendly and caring. would recommend for a calm stay 10 min walking away from the party center.
