Honestly one of the best experiences in my life, Ryo and the team of volunteers took us out on a back country tour for free all we had to pay for was the rental touring gear which was still cheap, everything was clean, staff were lovely and so much fun. Great location would recommend. I’m 24 and travelled with a mate and ended up extending solo because I loved it that much

My stay at Slopeside was fabulous!! The hosts are very caring and make all their guests feel very welcome! The location of the property is idyllic with super close access to one of the best skii resorts you could possibly imagine. Next time I visit the Hukuba valley, Slopeside lodge will undoubtedly be my preferred option for accommodation.

The best ski lodge I have ever stayed at by far! The location is incredible, right on the slopes, and the value of both the food and room were great! The best part is the staff though, the lodge is run by this super nice family, and they really make you feel like you are part of the family! Whether it’s with a home cooked meal or joining for a day of skiing, they are the nicest!! I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be coming back!

The owners, Doris, Rio, and Ichiro. Provided the best hostel experience I’ve ever had. Ichiro even picked me up from Hakuba station for free. From the start, they treated me like family and shared great local tips on skiing, shuttles, and the valley. After I dislocated my shoulder, Ichiro and Rio helped me find an emergency clinic right away. Slopeside Lodge truly cares about its guests. I can’t recommend it enough.
