Great place to stay!
Ryan and staff take great care of this hostel! This was one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in. The location is so convenient to downtown and many hikes and parking is easy and available at the hostel. I enjoyed my stay and will return when visiting Asheville again!
Ryan and his team have built an incredible boutique hostel that feels more like a bed and breakfast. The staff remembers your name, the property is spotless, there's a friendly hostel dog, and they're responsive with communication before check in. The hostel could be a challenge for people who don't have a car, but it's a stellar option if you're able to stay a little north of downtown,
Alles war prima
Ryan and Chloe run an impeccably clean hostel with the needs of their guests in mind. The kitchen is stocked with food and appliances to prepare all your meals. Plenty of tables and chairs inside and out to relax in. Snuggly bathrobe provided. Door latch needs a little help. Cannot speak highly enough of the cleanliness - better than hotels! The Lazy Tiger stands between two busy roads, but the host supplies ear plugs for sleeping. Choice of private, mixed gender or single gender sleeping
Lovely Hostel! The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The hostel is located a little outside of downtown but is easy accessible by bus making it a perfect place to stay.
The place was immaculate and the matresses were super comfy. Definitely a higher end matress. The place was better than alot of hotels. Located along a main road that takes you straight downtown in about 5 miles or so. I stayed there during the off season so not alot of other guests but it looked like it had a nice area outside to hang out at. Definitely 5 stars!
I stayed for almost a week over the winter holidays and had a great stay! Ryan (the owner) and the other staff are super friendly and keep the place clean and full of good vibes. The kitchen has all the supplies you could need, and the breakfast foods were much appreciated. If you’re driving, it’s a super convenient location right off the highway.
Definitely the better Hostel in Asheville for staying. despite not being directly in the city you are no more than a 15 min drive from anywhere in the city. Beds had adequate privacy in the shared space. The bathrooms were build for sharing with mens and womens bathrooms and kept extremely clean witg no wait or being locked out when occupied. Does have limited storage that requires you to bring a lock but can fit a large backpack or duffle bag. First choice when in Asheville.
Amazing hostel to stay in if you're ever passing through Asheville! It's the vibe of a big house with living room/ kitchen on the bottom floor. Everything was very clean and well kept. Coffee and food to cook in the mornings. The owner (I think his name is Ryan?) is very nice and knowledgeable about things to do in the area/ nearby hikes. Overall great energy at this hostel. (Ps. there is an adorable hostel dog too!)
Every facility was better than many hotels I've stayed at. Ryan (and Chloe, the welcoming dog) were very inviting and gracious. Felt right at home with a solid tour. Kitchen was well equipped, clean, and modern. Open common area was conducive to conversation for those that wanted to hang and meet people. Bathrooms were immaculate. Entire bed situation was awesome - comfortable, covered. Every detail was thought about! Highly recommend for anyone stopping by in Asheville!
I loved my stay at the Lazy Tiger & actually ended up staying a few times over the month for my travel assignment. It was one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed in & so clean. It also felt very safe & as a solo female traveler that is one of my top priorities staying somewhere. Overall loved the cozy space & great vibes. The host was great & flexible & had after hours check in available upon request which worked out perfect. Chloe, the hostel pup was a sweet bonus as a greeter at the door...
I had such a great stay at the Lazy Tiger! The place was fun and full of interesting traveler! The bathrooms/living areas were exceptionally clean and inviting. And there was almost always staff around in case you needed something. The location feels like the countryside. Out back, there is a fire pit out and a a comfortable porch, And plenty of parking. It is close to downtown without the noise. Such a clean, lively spot to meet other travelers! I will definitely return next time I am in town!
Had the absolute best time here, Ryan made sure I have everything I needed, the hostel had a bonfire one of the nights I was there, and it was overall just an amazing time! Stay here and enjoy the space while you’re not on your adventure, it’s lovely!
Lovely hostel, that is very well taken care of. The owner , Ryan, cares a lot about his place and the purpose of hostels, and Alex made us feel at home right away upon our arrival. The common living areas are very welcoming and the common areas upstairs (bathroom and bedrooms/dorm) are very clean. Overall a great hostel that we very highly recommend. Geraldine and Corinne
Very clean hostel with a relatively close proximity to downtown Asheville.
Honestly I was nervous about staying in a hostel in the United States. I've had some less than stellar experiences with hotels or Airbnbs here, but I figured this was highly rated so I would give it a try. I ended up staying in an 8-bed room which only had one other person in it. I came in late and when I stumbled out of bed in the morning other guests made me breakfast and coffee. Everything was sparkling clean (truly) and the vibes from staff and others in the hostel were impeccable. Will defi...
Host was amazing the place was super clean and comfortable! There was always someone to address any questions!
This was my first stay at a hostel. Ryan and his staff keep a very clean and inviting place. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Asheville area. Fantastic stay.
Spotless facilities. Great coffee in the morning. Pods instead of bunks are perfect. Affordable friendly helpful staff. 10/10
