This hostel is a gem in the country side. Beautiful, inspiring, excellent staff, a wood fired stove to huddle around and chat with fellow travelers late into the night. Perfect location to hike into the Sierra Nevada National Park from. This is not a complaint: this is a down to earth hostel, which is part of what makes it great, but if you're accustomed to air-conditioning and hyper clean hotel environments, this is not the place for you... For everyone else, enjoy El Refugio!
Such a cool hostel and great vibe! Super chill and cozy, definitely recommend.
It's a beautifull refugio at the edge of pitres in the middle of nature. As such you have to live a more basic livestyle, without newly renovated rooms or daily cleaning service. If you are fine with that though, it's a 10/10 stay plus the owner borris is a really funny and friendly guy.
Magnifique jardin, parfait si vous voulez vous reposez dans la nature sans atteindre trop de confort.

Großartiger, alternativer Ort. Nicht unbedingt ein Hostel im klassischen Sinne. Dafür umso tollere Menschen.
We loved our stay in the private room. The whole property has a lot of charm and the location in the middle of nature, yet close to the village of Pitres, is perfect. Don’t expect your “typical” hostel (atmosphere). Come with an open heart and be surprised at what all you may find.
Tolle Unterkunft mit viel Flair und toller Atmosphäre! Super gelegen für verwunschene Wanderungen durch kleine Dörfer und Blumenwiesen. Es gibt Katzen, Musikinstrumente, es ist alles zum Kochen da und ansonsten auch alles, was man so braucht (Bettlaken, Kissen etc.)
Very peaceful, cute, wholesome, charming. I loved the double room. The garden and the view is amazing. They welcomed me warmly. Close to hiking trails. I can recommend! :) thank you so much
