Krusty Hostel

The hostel was great and the connection to the travel agency (literally next door) made it really easy to organise hikes at great prices. The dorms are comfortable, with outlets, lamps and curtains, and the hot water is HOT. Would definitely recommend this hostel as your base for hiking out of Huaraz

It’s a really cool and, above all, very friendly hostel! The family are really lovely and will help you with anything, no matter how small. You can even book a day trip for the next day in the evening – no problem at all! I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it!

Had a fantastic stay at Krusty. The rooms are spacious, cleaned daily and you have your own private bathroom. Also, the owner speaks English really well and is extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Hatte mehr und bessere Beratung bzgl Tours erwartet. Andere Tour Anbieter waren deutlich günstiger. Rezeption war selten besetzt. Zimmer sind ok. Hostel bittet nichts soziales an.

Super bien, pero poco ambiente

Great hostel! Breakfast is included, and the kitchen is super well equipped too. there’s always hot water in the shower, there’s a working tv, and they offer to clean the room every day. the staff is friendly and helpful, and they also have a touring agency with good prices! Overall great value 🫶🏼

Lovely owners/staff. Nice views over the mountains from the kitchen balcony. Transport available for hikes.

Everything is a bit tired - definitely needs a refresh.

This place is good value for money. You can easily walk into the centre. They organised hike tours for us. It’s mostly people passing through to go on hikes and wake up early - so there isnt a massive social atmosphere, but this is why most people are in this area so it makes sense.

Basic but clean and good value for money. The single combined toilet/shower for 12 people dorms can be a logistical challenge particularly as there are no other communal options in the building (apart from 1 toilet on ground floor).

Unglaublich nettes Personal, alle Touren unter anderem dort buchbar. Zimmer und Ausstattung auf Top Niveau. Die gemeinsame Küche könnte etwas sauberer sein, aber „meckern“ auf hohem Niveau. Die Lage auch Weltklasse für alles!

Sehr solide Unterkunft. Besonders komfortabel ist es, dass man alle wichtigen Touren direkt übers Hostel buchen und im Zweifel auch Material leihen kann. Lediglich die Zimmer könnten etwas sauberer sein (Fleck auf Laken, Müll unterm Bett)

Die Inhaber sind super freundlich und helfen sowohl beim Buchen von Touren als auch bei weiteren Fragen. Der Dorm hat relativ wenig Platz für das gesamte Gepäck. Das Bad wird zudem von 12 Leuten geteilt, was schwierig werden kann, wenn alle morgens zu einer Tour starten. Es gibt kostenlos Handtücher. Die Betten haben Vorhänge und sind okay. Lediglich ein „Cover“ für die Decke wäre schön gewesen.

Stayed here before the trek and was able to leave my big bags here while doing it. Very basic but has everything you need

The building is a little worn. However it is clean. Our bathroom was cleaned daily. Hot water in the shower! Owner and wife run the place, very nice. He also operates the trekking company same name. Looked like fair prices, less than we paid for similar trek with another company.

Good base for doing daytrips + the 8 day Huayhuash but regretted staying here as we slept so poorly before all of our hikes because it was so loud (you can hear every little noise in our room from reception area). There is also no common area so now where to make friends so it felt very antisocial. Great to book your 8 day trek through - excellent value for money, very warm + modern camping equipment. Their guides and chef are top tier. Book hikes with Krusty Travel but don't stay at the hostel
