Baloo Hostel

So cute and the rooms were clean and spacious with lots of hooks and storage. Loved the shower inside the room. Great little escape from the city, staff was super kind, the other guests attracted were great. Absolutely recommend.

I had such a lovely time at Baloo, with a very (very) clean bedroom and toilet/shower, a cozy bar in the courtyard and great company :) Will come back!

Really cool hostel with really friendly staff. It's very chill and the facilities are perfect. It's also walkable from the city centre, is close to lots of bars, and has a metro station around the corner. Thank you Stella, Jo, and the rest of the staff there! You made it a very welcoming and relaxed place.

Had a fabulous time at Baloo Hostel! Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. All the facilities were clean and in order, and exactly as described. I thought the kitchen was particularly cute — including the awesome selection of free loose leaf teas! The location was great. Walking distance to big landmarks like the Acropolis (20 mins or so) without being right in the middle of chaotic tourist town, and next to some very charming neighbourhoods which were great for a drink or evening me...

Great people and good facilities. Just as other reviews mention, sketchy neighbourhood. I was very happy with the keycard and privacy by the curtains on the bed. Great place and would definitely recommend ☺️

Great hostel, great vibes. It is very cozy and homey, and the girls of the staff were really great, gave me good advice and made me feel very comfortable, which is always nice when solo traveling ! The rooms are nice and the kitchen is one of the cleanest/most comfy kitchens I've seen in a hostal (and is pretty well furnished). The little courtyard and bar were also a hit ! So… the hostel in itself is great, all the staff is super cool and friendly, people are super nice, the big kitchen is a pretty place to hang out and always clean and i loved the backyard. BUT BUT the location really is very sketchy. I already saw how many poeple previously commented on the rough neighbourhood but decided to ignore it since i though I was already used to it from living in other big cities in Europe. I stayed at 3 different hostels in Athens and this was by far my favorite, the front desk girls were so nice and caring. I would definitely recommend

The house is beautiful, and beds and amenities are very typical for hostel living. Common area is a tad small but cozy. It seems like the hostels books a lot of groups - which means the hostel vibe is a little less social, if that matters to you. The neighbourhood is famously rough, be prepared for that, otherwise it is very centrally located.

I’ve now returned for the fourth time, and each visit feels just like coming home. Most of the staff recognized me and welcomed me back with such warm, genuine energy, which I truly appreciate. I stayed in one of the newer rooms this time, it was very spacious, and most importantly, everything was spotless, especially the shower room. A beautiful, cozy, and well-maintained hostel in a perfect location. I had a great sleep in the spacious 10-person dorm, then enjoyed the free breakfast. Thank you!

I only stayed here for one night, but I wish I had stayed longer. The facilities are great with good privacy curtains in rooms, lockable storage under the bed, very clean bathrooms. The atmosphere is amazing: beautiful building, rooms, and common areas. The staff is very nice and helpful. Luggage storage is just leaving it at the reception desk, which is frequently unattended. However, all doors are locked/key card access only.

Couldn't recommend Baloo hostel more! Friendly helpful staff, so clean, and an amazing almost family like atmosphere. We met great people here andnvery muchmuch enjoyed our stay

Very chill hostel when I visited. It was quite social in the common room and had travellers with a wide age range which was good. It’s not such a far walk into the city and has some good bars, cafes and eateries quite close by. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. The best I stayed in when I visited Athens. Staff were very friendly and we had fun doing the spirit tasting by with them. Would stay again.

Excellent hostel, comfortable relaxed atmosphere, great location close to museums and transport links, easy walking distance to Athens central area. Friendly helpful staff.

After staying at Baloo Hostel four separate times over the course of a month, I can safely say, that this is the best hostel, I’ve ever been at. The staff and the interior design, quickly makes you feel at home, and the atmosphere is very social. I’ve gotten to know more awesome and kind people at this hostel, than I can count. The 10-bed room is also great – very clean and very comfortable beds. 10/10.
