The war hostel is a great place to stay in Sarajevo. The facilities are brand new and super modern/clean. The location is great and right next to the cable car. The host 01 is great and will share his wisdom about the Bosnian war with you. The war museum he runs is also very insightful and good for everyone to go and see. His war artworks are amazing and hung up around the hostel for you to look at.
If you are curious about the Bosnian war, this is the best place to learn about history while having an immersive experience of what life used to look like during the war. Zero One is a responsible and perceptive host. He really takes time to know his guests and gives his advice and recommendations. This guy has a great knowledge and it was fun to talk with him. Every interesting spot, like yellow fortress or the old town, is within walking distance and this area seems quite safe at night. I al...

If you wanna learn about the war, then this is the perfect hostel
Genuinely the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The hostel is incredibly interesting, and gives you a glimpse into what life was like for those living in Sarajevo during the siege. The host is very very friendly, and as he is a survivor of the war he can tell you loads about the war. It’s clear that so much effort has been put into the hostel to make it the greatest experience possible for the guest. I would 100% recommend staying here if you’re in Sarajevo and interested in history.
If you are interested in the history of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina and want to experience even more than what you’ll see in the museums in the city, then stay here. This is not you usual hostel but so much more, and it’s a great place to really understand the city and people of Sarajevo
I had the most insightful and immersive experience at this hostel! From the conscientious setting up of the room with war items, to detailed insights provided by 01 (the host) on the war, it is clear that 01 and his family have invested so much effort into curating this experience for their guests. There is no better way to learn about BiH than to speak with locals, and I was able to do just that! The beds are comfortable and warm, and toilet/shower area very well-maintained. I also received man...
