Pretty great location in our opinion. Could long walk to many places or take 5 min ubers to main attractions. The room could be priced a little cheaper considering bare-boned accommodations Pros - building/room felt very secure! - Bathroom+floor very clean - Rooftop access - great communication via email - AC Cons - no access to or included drinking water, even the shared kitchen - there was some sand in our sheets (not from us) - springy beds - poor room lighting may hurt your eyes ...
Great spot to stay! Easy choice for next time
A bit removed from OSJ, but of course the island is more than that! Staff was very kind, and cleaning services did a nice job every day. The terrace is a great place to relax and socialize at the end of the day. The inclusion of an all female-dorm with lockers made us feel very safe and comfortable sleeping.
My first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience. The location is great, close to the beach, tons of food and shops on Calle Loíza, plus a grocery store nearby. Easy walk to La Placita, Condado, and Ocean Park, and free buses outside go to the airport and Old San Juan. Very clean and easy to meet people. It’s co-ed but I felt very safe. They provide free sheets/blanket/pillow but bring toiletries, shower shoes, and bath towels. Shoutout to Edwin — super helpful and friendly.
All doors are secured with door codes. The rooms are nice and all the beds have power outlets to charge at. The room had a window that didnt close so it stayed fairly humid throughout the day and night. But to be expected for the tropics. The bathroom was spacious. Bring your own shampoo etc as none is provided. The staff were phenomenal. They helped me through a travel problem until I had a resolution. They had good food and activity recs. Kitchen area is small but good! Good location
I think I echo what others have recently reviewed, I paid $50/nite for a dorm bed and I don't think it was worth the value. No curtains, no personal outlets, no light or mini shelf for your stuff. There was really no atmosphere at all, so it was a little awkward for a solo traveler. Pros are the great location- 5 min walk to grocery, 7 min walk to the beach, 14 min walk to la placita, and the restaurants along the street were interesting, funky, local. Would rec for the location.
Location was prime but the hostel itself could use some attention. Old and a bit dirty. While it's a budget stay, I think it was still overpriced for the bed and quality of the actual place. My top bunk had 0 outlet, you had to rent a towel for $5...
really nice place in a fun neighborhood. Best of the cheaper-end hostels. two thumbs up!
I stayed one night at Conturce Hostel and it was great. I could easily upgrade my dorm bed to a private room, and the staff was always super friendly. I also enjoyed the rooftop and the cafés and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!
Nice hostel. Clear instructions for swlf check in. I wish there were someone in the reception at all times to ask questions or ask for an extra blanket. The main benefit location-wise is the beach within a 4 min walk and a big grocery store right around the corner. It has a kitchen which is nice. It has a nice rooftop but it was 'reserved for a private event' when I got there which was annoying as I chose the hostel for it, to great extend and I was paying for it. Other than that nice hostel .
great space the staff was kind and answered any questions I had. the facilities were clean and I felt safe
I was told I’d receive back my $35 dollars when I paid but they kept it, disputed it on my card and hostel still kept it
4th time staying at this hostel. Staff is good. I felt like I was not welcomed. Maybe something I did that I am not aware of. An incident happened where someone stayed in the room that was supposedly staying elsewhere. Somehow she got into our room and slept on the bed that was supposed to be for someone else. That was scary. Place is clean. Location is great. Close to everything. (Bed c in all girls room has no power outlet for you to charge your phone).
My daughter and I had fo fantastic stay at this lovely hostel in Ceiba. We stay here for 4 nights, the owner, is incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating — he even drove us to the San Juan airport early in the morning for a much better price of an Uber! The room was cute, clean, and very affordable. What really stood out were all the thoughtful, creative touches: bananas hung in the room, plus free candy, snacks, honey, coffee & creamer, tea, popcorn, cold drinks, and water .
Everything was good, nothing to say
Loved this place. Cant wait to go back.
I just didn’t really like the property that much. The rooms were excessively cold, the social scene was mostly dead, I never even met the staff as there hours are only 10-6 and that’s if someone’s there (someone wasn’t the time I was). The place felt sort of low quality and the only real upside was the beach was close by. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again
