The code for the main door didn’t work when we arrived in the evening. It took some time after someone opened the door for us. They messed up our booking and charged 25 USD for a late check in. Receptionist was rather unfriendly. Water vending machine didn’t work. Area looked sketchy. The room itself was okay with curtains on the bed. Wouldn’t recommend
I stayed two nights in the four-bed female dorm. Normally I don't like dorm rooms, but this experience was just great. The other girls were very nice and respectful, and the bed with the fluffy blanket was so comfortable. I also really liked the curtain for more privacy. The staff is friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the rooftop and the space in the common area. Plus, the bathroom was always clean. Highly recommended!
This is a great location and probably it used to be a good hostel. But now it is incredibly dingy. Not full on dirty, you could tell that there was someone who cleaned it every day, but just like weird spots and stains and rusty areas and mildew things—just dingy. There was also basically no social interaction at all (other than a WhatsApp group, and meet ups with people at their sister Hostel which is way better). Often there was no one at the desk. They were helpful when you could find them ...
It was something else, it’s close to everything. It was clean and the staff is friendly.
Really nice hostel, friendly staff, and great location! One caveat… when putting in directions for Uber, make sure you put in Nomada Urban BEACH Hostel- there is also a Nomada Urban Hostel, and they are NOT the same! (Ask us how we know! 😅)
Overall convenient for travelers: Comfy beds, quiet rooms. But Nomada is overpriced for what it offers compared to local hostels here. Cleaning staff is helpful, but the building itself is neglected (old & rusted fixtures, leak issues, cracked & worn floors, sandy/dusty furniture, slippery/hazard stairs when raining). The bar/lounge area is advertised as a coworking space, but not comfortable to work. Windows stay open in common areas, so mostly hot/humid & bugs get in. It needs screens & fans.
Nómada is a nice little hostel! I stayed in early February, where there were fewer people staying there, so the vibe wasn't as social as I was used to, but I did manage to make some good connections. It's a short walk to the beach and there are good restaurants nearby, but if you want to visit Old San Juan you'll need to take a bus.
Great stay for a quick warm getaway!!
Located next to the biggest housing projects in PR. I booked a private single w/ shared bathroom, which was no bargain. First they put me in a Harry-Potter-Under-The-Staircase style room on the roof of the building. Water damage, smelled like mold, broken AC unit, and I had to go outside + down a staircase to get to the communal bathroom. Meg was great and moved me to a new room. Beds were low to the ground cots, showers industrial. Especially for the price I would never recommend this.
I’ve been coming here for 6+ years now. Incredible hostel, but quiet if you’re looking for a more social/party hostel (I was working a day or two remote so the vibe was perfect haha)
Absolutely loved staying here, I felt so safe and met amazing people! I love that it’s also Puerto Rican owned 🇵🇷 stayed in a mixed dorm during December and it was only ever myself and maybe one other person! The location is perfect, it was great being close to the beach and close to easily get to old San Juan and most of the things I was seeing during my visit. I’d stay here again and recommend it to any other solo female travelers!
Nomada is a great little hostel. The self check in and check out was seamless. I received an email with the guest agreement and a text with the entry codes once I had signed. My room was tiny but comfortable. The bedding and pillows were super comfortable - hotel grade even. This was a nice touch for a hostel. My room on the second floor was road facing and the road noise from cars and streets goers was quite loud. The room should be soundproofed or complimentary ear plugs provided. Great stay!
I feel like I really lucked out. I had overbooked myself at the other Nomada and was moved over to this one. The facilities had a pool, a clean kitchen a fantastic staff very clean bathrooms, and dorm rooms. I can’t say enough good things. The location is close to the airport too.
The beds are very uncomfortable and the shower pressure is terrible. But it was a great environment and very social! And close to the beach
The place was so quiet I wasn’t sure there were other guests. Would definitely book again.
I loved staying at Nomada! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is very fun. A lot of young people stay here so there’s always big energy. Everything is very clean and the beds are very comfortable as well! There’s also a code you have to use to enter the building and rooms so this made me feel very safe as a traveler. I would definitely stay here again!
Horrible place! Looks nothing like the pictures. Private rooms are prison cells. No showers work, all doors are broke. The front desk is empty half the day (even during open hours). Avoid this place at all costs!!!
