Washington Capitol Hostel

Honestamente lo use solo para dejar mis cosas y termine durmiendo en lo de un amigo. No es un hostel estudiantil, el ambiente es más bien de residencia temporal económica. Recomendaría ir a habitaciones solo preferentemente, y si no hay otra opción de alojamiento por tu presupuesto. Washington es pequeña y bien conectada, quizá un hotel más alejado del centro sea mejor opción. A favor el personal es amable y nadie toco mis cosas ni dentro ni fuera del locker, que es muy pequeño.

Minimal space in the beds, the top bunks were so close to the bottom I would hit my head. The mattresses are stained and it is tight spacing overall.

If you are looking for a place to sleep one or two nights, I think this will do the job. But if you are picky about the hostel experience, no, I don't think you will like this one. The neighborhood is good but it can be quite noisy during the weekend nights. The rooms and restrooms were clean though and beds were decently comfy. There were mice in my room & in the kitchen!! I heard a noise next to my bed and there was a mouse which crawled into my bag and bit through some of my stuff. I couldn’t sleep because I was too worried about my things. Wouldn’t recommend, the price isn’t worth it!

The staff person was polite, but not particularly helpful. The facilities were filthy, I didn't even feel comfortable taking a shower there, or using the bathroom much at all. I wasn't given a towel. Oh, and all the mice, that wasn't fun to see or hear about from my roommates. The best things I can say for this hostel is that it's in a popular location, the bedsheets were clean, and the other guests were nice and polite without being overly friendly. I definitely won't be returning.

Stairs. Other than that everything was fine. Spacious common spaces, friendly laid back staff only downside was this guy was building his summer log cabin🪚 house the 2nd night of my stay 😂 the music from the bar downstairs was quieter. NOT THEIR FAULT THOUGH! Definitely think of offering ear plugs, lol

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett, aber das Haus ist wirklich sehr einfach. Es gibt zwei kleine Bäder für alle zum Teilen, winzige Räume fast ohne Stauraum für Gepäck und insgesamt ist es nicht gerade sauber. Wenn man nur die Nacht dort verbringen will und keine hohen Ansprüche hat, passt es. Die Nachbarschaft ist kunterbunt mit Restaurants und Bars und sogar Livemusik. Das hat uns gefallen.

The owner there didn’t give me back my cash deposit, and they don’t have 24 hours service with their reception desk and they’re always walking away anytime when someone is in need of help for something within the establishment. I wouldn’t go back there and I would not stay there no more. The establishment is a waste of time and it’s not worth anyone’s time.

Best rate I’ve found in DC. Super old building so expect “quirks”. I’ve stayed there twice for a week each time. Busses are super close, it can be noisy but if you join the party you won’t mind. The stairs are super steep. But I’d go back again. The mattresses are comfier if you choose a top bunk just because they get sat on less.

The area is a bit too noisy. The kitchen could have been much cleaner. Plus, it would have been great if there was more access to lockers with larger space.

Honestly not great even for the price. The bunkbeds where ductaped together, had no rails or ladders to get up to the top bunks. Minimal “food” provided was a gallon of milk & white bread. There was mold in the coffee maker.

This doesn't look like a hostel, it's more like a homeless shelter. Cockroaches, mold in the coffee machine, insects in the beds...

The + Nice staff, good location. No homeless people. Has a kitchen and breakfast. The - Overall a very dirty hostel… It has roaches and rats. My mattress and pillow were very gross with sweat and/or p*** stains. Dirty dishes. No towels or body soap provided. No organized events or visits. Cameras everywhere with signs that say “if you sleep on the couch you will be fined $50”. Hostel simple et un peu vétuste, mais pour le prix, c'est très correct. Heureusement qu'il existe encore à Washington des logements bon marché comme celui-ici pour les voyageurs peu fortunés.

The worst craphole I've stayed in in the whole USA. Yes, it's a bit cheap, but it will leave you with the worst mental deseases. So dirty, staff so rude they literally tried to pick a fight with me, and all this because I had to change the bed they originally assigned me because it has WOOD DUST on it. And they never cleaned it. The kitchen is a rat hole (literally not figuratively) actualt rats in the kitchen, so do not eat their bread and peanut butter they serve in the morning. Overall avoid

Great location! Easy access to affordable eateries if you just want “a slice” of 🍕 pizza, great sit down restaurants/bars with live music! Easily accessible to bus lines to take you all over the city and the 96 bus line direct to/from Union Station. Affordable, value for the price to take a shower, get a few hours of rest. Only downside are the many stairs to climb with luggage; amenities outdated (linen/pillows) - worked for me I’m on a budget. Staff is friendly and welcoming!

Great price for the central location of the hostel in the middle of an active nightlife hotspot for the youth! Sure, you have to contend with other people around in the dorm but you certainly cannot beat the price. Overall, safe area, good enough amenities and shower area, free simple breakfast, and best for solo travelers looking for a simple night’s rest
